Fun Breakfast

Sorry no pics from this morning

took some sour dough biscuits and rolled them out to about 3 inch or so
then pressed into the cups in the muffin tins , filled the cups with egg mixed with bacon bits and covered with shredded cheese , bake at 400 till done ( approx 17 min) . we had 3 grandkids for the weekend ages from 7 - 12 , needless to say they all helped this morning with this project and was happy campers . I am around these kids alot so I teach them alot of differant things , they help me garden , care for the rabbits , fish , a little hunting , building stuff and now cooking . I will keep teaching them as long as they are interested , I try to keep things fun while we do stuff and I believe this halps alot . I know with things the way they are now days folks don't take time to teach their kids or grandkids , I am trying to slow my life down so I can be a good mentor .
Thanks to all that reply to my post and maybe they can learn a little something also

Now LOOK what you have done!!! I am going to have to try this. I get up early to work, with only a few minutes to get ready. I don't usually have much time to fix a good breakfast. Now I will cook these in advance and freeze.

Rags, now youve done it. I am coming over to your house for breakfast !!!! Actually, I think it is great what your doing. Do you have a clue how many "modern" young married ladies barely can use the micro wave ? Most of them don't even know how to turn on the range. They only thing they care about is that all the appliances are stainless steel. I can for sure say, that when things go bad, and the power is off, there nuker maching won't work, and they will starve ! Keep it up.

That breakfast sounds yummy! I really admire you for taking the time to teach your grandchildren so much. Believe me they will always remember it! I think it is wonderful to teach kids how to be more self sufficient and they may very well need those skills someday and they will always be thankful grandpa taught them how to do those things - and they're having fun learning!

OK "Pa", made this for supper tonight as a "practice"...I mixed some leftover think ham slices that I chopped up instead of bacon bits. It is a keeper! I'll be making some with my grandson in the near future! I was going to chop up some kale to add to the egg mixture but figured I better not "push" it. Haha Thanks for sharing Pa!

WoW! Those sound so easy & so good, now I'm going to have to try them too! It sounds like you had a good time with the grandkids & I'm sure they'll have lots of memories when they grow up of all the things they learned & did with you as kids.

We make these too & I let the kids choose what they want in their egg mixture.

My daughter, 6, is more daring with her food......She likes to mix it diced tomato, baby spinach & cottage cheese with the eggs & top with mozzarella cheese.... Then she dips them in marinara (This is what happens when you tell kids "Anything in the fridge is available") I think they taste awful her way, but I'll never tell her that.

My son likes sharp cheddar grated up in his egg mix, smoked sausage & chopped bacon & tops with sharp cheddar.......Sometimes he chooses diced ham over sausage. His are yummy! Both of mine prefer then with cresent roll dough.

On busy weeks I make several pans to reheat on school mornings. Mine typically eat 3-4 each with a glass of milk & eat a piece of fruit (peeled orange or banana) in the car on the drive to school. Good, easy, filling breakfast.
