I love that idea. It's always fun to find things when renovating.

Thanks for posting this. I have just recently lost both my mom and dad and we are selling their home, the home I grew up in. I had wanted to leave our "mark" on the house but wasn't sure how. This is a great idea.

That is a pretty cool idea. I plan on living here until I die but I could still do it for years to come in the future. It might be kinda nice to let the future owners know what kind of farm we had, animals, what we raised & grew, etc.

I do like that. I love the little story, too. And the textured walls are exactly like my house.

Whenever I did wallpaper in a bath, I always put the date, pattern # and maker, and my name and phone number behind the medicine chest. If I moved giant murals or did specialty work like padded walls or leather doors, etc. I always signed it (underneath it) with my contact info included. A house I did ostrich hide wainscot for a luncheon for Pres. Bush I put that info in a corner where it would not be missed if the hide was ever removed. I thought it would be fun information for future owners of the home on renovation.

Technically........ It is against code. An electrical box should not have anything flammable in it. If the paper peeled and got against a hot junction...

The basic concept is a "house log". A better spot would be on the back of the door on the cabinet under the kitchen sink. (Some of you will know why that spot comes to mind.) You can write an essay there, and expect it to be unobtrusive yet visible.
