New Business card..www. or not?

Hey Guys,
I'm re-designing my business card.
I've recently got a webpage (THANKS Nevada!!!) so I'm updating my card.

So, my question do you still need the "www." or is just the the page name enough?

www.business.com or business.com

What do ya think?

L.A.

Technically speaking, you can have it set up either way. Most websites you can access by using the www. or leaving it off, but not all of them. I would go with the www, personally.

I would keep www because, believe it or not, there are some people who won't know what "business.com" is. They may think it is your email, or not have any clue at all.

I guess it's old fashioned but I always like the "www" before the address.

I always use the www as others have commented, many people who are not
internet savvy won't realize it is a web address w/o the www.

Are you getting your business cards through Vista Print? If you haven't checked
them out I would highly recommend for you to do so.

I have ordered the custom business cards from them for both my natural
skin care hobby/business and my Barred Plymouth Rocks and eggs. Have
also ordered the large sign for my business ( I'm a vendor at a local farmer's
mkt. and use the sign on my booth ) and also have ordered the matching
signs for my car doors - everything I have designed on their user-friendly
site and ordered has far exceeded my expectations.

What looks better to you? When I think of the big players on the Internet, for example, I think of Amazon.com or Wikipedia.com. I don't mentally add a "www" before them. I think that dropping the www is simpler and cleaner. But it's subjective ... I don't think that there's one right way.

Adding all the web address junk clutters up the card. If someone types in "business.com" to an address bar or a search window, they should find your site very easily, more easily than counting slashes, figuring out what direction they're slanting and dealing with underscores and the like.

A comedian once said that if you have to tell a story to explain what your job is, then your job sucks. If your business card is 3.75"x2.25" of solid text, then your business card sucks. Keep it simple, keep it clean, keep the housecleaning stuff off of the card (unless you clean houses). Business name, a slogan/description and contact information. A picture if it'll help, and that's it. Anything more and you should have printed pamphlets, not business cards.

Which one of these do you want to be faced with when you get back from the farmers market and want to find out how to get more of that awesome cheese?

or
marysgoatcheese.com

Which one do you want to inflict on your customers?

http: //www.imaginary.regional.isp.com/users/accounts/~marylovesmakinggoatcheeseathome1966/main/index.html absolutely does not look professional. You should have your own website. But, adding www. is hardly adding junk to the card. Those who know they don't have to add the www. when they go to your website won't.

I hate those very long webpages. The home page should be clean and easy to type, the other pages can be long because you aren't typing in those.
