Prayers on two fronts, please

As some of you know, I am caretaker for an elderly gentleman (Lonnie), and he is the reason I spend half the year at his home in Missouri. We go south to Texas to my home in October for half the year.

He has been having a LOT of trouble seeing, but we found out that he has rapidly advancing cataracts, and he's having the first surgery for lens replacement on Tuesday. Prayers, please, as he is somewhat frail.

Just got off a long series of phone calls. Hubby was stacking firewood in the extreme heat at our home in Texas and experienced chest tightness. He has now had two stents installed in one artery that was 100% blocked. There is another artery that is 90% blocked, but they will deal with that later.

This is a 66 year old man who does Pilates every day, weighs 180, just had his kidney checkup (he has my left kidney), walks 3 miles a day, and has LOW cholesterol. Prayers, please.

I will get things organized here, rely on hubby's sis, who is there at the hospital, and older son who is driving down from Austin to the hospital this evening.

Life is never dull.

Thanks,
Alice

Thinking about you and praying for you. How are you doing yourself? Stress is hard and when you beloved husband isn't close by, I know it's that much harder.

Just talked to Dan. He's doing well. Haven't heard yet how long they are keeping him in the hospital. He has tickets for the University of Texas football game on Saturday, and he is a SERIOUS fan. We'll see what happens there.

Alice, my prayers are with you, your hubby and Lonnie. I have a DH that had his 25th stent placed this year. That isn't a typo either. Already had a triple bypass that hasn't turned out so well. Take care of yourself cause stress is a butt kicker, I know. You must be a nurse.....wether you are licensed or not..lol. It's in your blood. Please take care of yourself. Your husband will be fine, Lonnie will see clearly again. The Dear Lord and you will see to that. Carla

Yes, doctors keep saying, "Are you a nurse??" No, just too much real life experience.

Talked to hubby three times. He's fine. He says he is getting out of the hospital on Tuesday, and that he's going to the high school football game on Friday night, then to Austin (three hour drive) on Saturday for the University of Texas game. He *says* the doctors have approved this.

I'll be taking Lonnie for his eye surgery in the morning and finding how many days post surgery that he will need attentive care. THEN, I might make plans.

Very luckily, I have two relief milkers lined up for the dairy goats.
