Cool Thyroid scan was"inconclusive"

Trying so hard to stay positive and find the humor in it all.
Remember the song that went
"If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all?"

My Drs office called on the thyroid scan results.
It was"inconclusive"
More of the "B" word (biopsy)...with my luck more of the "C" word too.
I blogged all about it....It's the way I get it out and put down my thoughts thru all of this.
Thank you HT'ers for the prayers and caring thoughts
And to those of you who read my blog and support me ,thank you too!

As a cancer survivor of around 30 years...it's not ALL bad. They are just suspicious of something...because you had cancer. Doesn't mean it **IS**, just means they want to find out. If you hadn't had cancer, likely they'd just ignore it!

So. Enjoy life today, tomorrow will take care of itself!

I too hope to be a 30 year survivor
I was just letting Ht'ers know that the results had came back.
Its just after the path report last week after the mastectomies right now I kinda feel like what next. LOL !!
I do still have cancer and have to have more surgery , chemo and rads.
But I love waking up each day , and put yesterdays troubles behind me. And try my very best not to worry about what the next day holds. Blessings~

Mine was "inconclusive" also and it was all fine. They measure it with the scan as "hot" or "cold" and the doc said mine was lukewarm. They did the biopsy--not fun and I was really sore for about 48 hours and black and blue for a week but the biopsy came back "old blood" and no cancer. The doc did tell me if it was thyroid cancer that it was the easiest kind to cure. I will be praying for you. Just remember its in God's hands and you really can't do anything about it but trust Him and take each day he blesses you with as a gift. I know that is easier said than done, you are in my prayers.

nanadeb, love the name by the way. I'm grandma debbie.

I had a thyroid biopsy in Dec. I didn't think it was terrible at all. They do numb you and that needle pinches, but it's manageable. I didn't feel the biopsy needle at all. I had it done in the hospital. It didn't take more then a half an hour.

I had something called hurthle cells in the nodule. The only way to tell if it's cancer or not is to remove the lobe and freeze and biopsy it.

The biopsy will give you peace of mind, in that aspect anyway. It's really isnt bad at all. I was just a little sore at the needle site if I touched it.

Good luck to you, I wish you the best.

Debbie

Modern medicine is great but it can be so frustrating, too. Continued prayers!

I know someone who had more than one type of thyroid cancer. The endocrinologist was more worried about the blood glucose test being high!
Hang in there.

I just had a biopsy last week on a solid nodule on my thyroid and yesterday my doctor called saying the results were suspicious. So in the morning I meet with a surgeon about removing the nodule. If it's not cancer everything is great. It it shows cancer they are going to remove my thyroid.

My neighbor had her thyroid removed with two different cancers.
Her Doc is beating on her for her blood sugar.
He said he has no worry about the thyroid cancer-It's her sugar numbers that upsets him!
I know that it isn't fun, for sure, but it is one of the least scary to me.
I wish everybody well!

I have had a multinodular goiter for about 6 years now...Had an ultra-sound last week and they are growing....now starting to squeeze on my esophagus...I have an appointment with an endocrinologist on January 9th...They will probably take it all out...I am not looking forward to the biopsy...just hang in there and don't borrow problems you don't have yet...still praying for you..
