Alright who wants rain?

not sure of our totals here but Charlotte got over 6 inches today. They're doing rescues and roads are closed in places. I was driving home in it. Heard the reports of wrecks and all on the radio and took the long way around. 30mph was too fast even on the interstate. People were pulling over left and right it was raining so hard. I have never been so glad to get home before! Worst of the storm is over but dh still has to make it home. He's about ready to start hitting the worst of the traffic too. I'll be glad to go scoop a few hundred buckets or so and send the to ya!

Me! *waving arms wildly to get your attention!* I will take all the excess you can spare. Sorry about the flooding and such you all are experiencing.

Actually we had a little bit this morning. Just a nice, slow rain and I was thanking God for it on behalf of all the grass, trees, etc., but especially for all the cows I've been seeing these past few weeks standing in the ponds trying to cool off.

I would like some also. What time will you be sending it?

It's gotten overcast several times, but we were just being teased.

you are kidding? I came home down 85 and had to go 485 to get around the traffic and wrecks. I thought for sure you'd be soaked too. It has been a slow steady rain here all afternoon even though I think its stopped in Charlotte. I don't even know if our road is going to be passable after this! It was bad enough after the soaking we got the other day. I'm thinking we've had at least 4 inches here..

Even though we're crispy brown dry here and there were big storms north of us and then south of us (still haven't figured out how it skipped over us) I think you should send it all to Texas. Saw that they had a train derail in TX today due to the excessive heat causing the rails to buckle!

Those folks (my daughter, grandson and SIL included) need rain and relief from the heat in a bad way!

Well, it worked. We started getting rain a minute ago. Hopefully it'll last for a while and not be mostly grumble and no follow through.

It was a few days ago but we sat and watched storm clouds to the south of us for hours. The clouds stayed one place and didn't move. People we know to the south of us said they got lots of rain, some up to 6" and flash flooding in and around their houses. The lightening was freaky too, hitting and splitting big trees and setting them on fire. We didn't even get a sprinkle from that storm.

We're cloudy and cooler today, but there's no rain here yet. We had a quick rainshower yesterday that helped, but we're not dry like Texas and other states to the west of us.

well I hope you all get rain! Just not this much. What a mess! They've got shelters open and I watched firefighters carrying people out of their homes (of course i asked why the firefighters could walk but the people couldn't!) Dh made it safely home but said traffic was bad. Only 1 lane of 85S was open coming into Charlotte he said.

Rained hard this morning. Cleared up and rained again afternoon, hard. water running down gravel roads, cutting little rivers. Fixing to rain again. Thought the dog had a strange growth on his neck. Turns out he is growing gills.

We've had the wettest summer in years here. No flooding, thank God, but thunderstorms almost every night and some rain during the day many times. Love the night storms for dropping the temp.
