I am still smoking, although I quit for 2 years & the dummy7 I am started again. Since then those Roll your own places have opened up not too far from us & a carton is $30.00, tax included & are rolled in a big machine in 10 minutes. Not that I'm trying to encourage anyone to smoke, it's a terrible habit but if I had to pay $6.00 a pack I'd quit again right now!

Exactly what I was going to say. Then shop online and you can find pipe cut tobacco and tubes on sale, making it about $1.30 a pack. With a crank roller, it only takes 5 minutes to make a pack.

I've been quit for about 20 years now.

If I was to have been still smoking up to these last few years, I would be quit now anyway. I can't see how anyone can afford to smoke now.

I use to smoke 2+ packs a day way back then and never thought much about the cost but I doubt I could afford 2 packs a week now.

I smoke about a pack a day now which is down from the 2to3 that I was smoking. I have tried to quite a few times but just havn't been able to. I roll my own non-filtered smokes for about 8 bucks a carton not to bad at that but still wished that I could quite.

I think I read not long ago that Kentuky has the highest smoking rate in the nation. I remember in the mid 1970's I bought Marlboros while visiting family in Knox County KY for 23 cents a pack. Maybe if you waited and rolled your smoke just when you were ready for it might slow you down a little more.

I think smoking is gross, I can't stand how people smell after they been smoking. It makes me want to puke. I don't allow it in my car or my house and I'm SO GLAD they don't allow people to stand outside the doors and smoke outside work any more. I dated a smoker once, in my younger days. One kiss and that was the nastiest thing ever.

When I first began smoking, a pack cost $.37 Now I used to smoke anywhere from 1-2 packs a day...Generally about a pack and a half, usually. I haven't touched a cigarette in 29 years, but the bad thing...Once in a while, I still crave them. If you've never had one, DON'T START!!!

I think the best way to quit smoking would be to roll up dollar bills equal to a pack or carton of cigarettes and just light them up and watch them burn. Is that really any different than smoking other than the burnt dollar bills won't increase your chances to get COPD or cancer.

Eighteen bucks (actually a little less than that and this is with tax) gets my DH a large bag of tobacco and two boxes of tubes. That lasts two weeks at a pack a day.

My neighbor was telling me that he drives to virginia once a week to buy smokes, it's about a half hour from here and he saves $2 a pack compared to how much they cost here in Maryland.
