Road Trip Help Please

We will be taking a road trip out west and we have a week's stay in Mesquite NV then we will meander up to Denver to see relatives and then for a week's stay in Breezy Springs, MN. My dh has always wanted to go to the mouth of the MS and has never been to MN. Does anyone live close enough or been to these Cities enough to tell us what to do and if there is anything that is unsafe there? This will be all new traveling to us. I would sure appreciate any advise you could give me. We are of the older type folks. Me in early 60's him early 70's.

If you go through Colorado Springs the Garden Of The Gods is well worth the stop.

Oh yes! Garden of the Gods is beautiful! Breckenridge was interesting, too, but it may not be your cup of tea. Can I come with you? My SIL lives in Aurora

Always be careful where you put your feet.

Dont feed the mogwai after midnight.

We live about 15 miles from Breezy Point (if that's the town he's talking about). We'd love to meet you on your trip.

BTW, don't leave too soon because the Mississippi Headwaters (ie, Itasca State Park) is currently closed to visitors. The State of Minnesota is "shut down" and all state parks (and rest areas) are closed.

You are right(mistake) we are staying in Breezy Point. CF, do you think the Parks will be open by the last week of September? We have reservations that cant be changed.
We would love to meet you two. We will be there 9/23 thru 9/30.
How is the weather at that time usually? Here is is still summertime but i realize it may be much different there.
Thanks for the advice everyone. We really appreciate it. Please keep it coming.
I have a feeling this is a trick statement, YH, but what is a Molgui? We will have to check out the Garden of the Gods if we go that route.

I sure hope the state will be functioning again by 9/23. If not, I will be looking for a new job!

The end of September is perfect weather. If you're lucky, you should hit the peak of our fall colors. Best time of year!

We'll keep in touch.....
