Fabulous Movie for History Fans

If anyone here is a fan of US history or historical period films in general, you have to check out this film. It is now ranked up there with my all time favorite films. The history, storyline, acting, set design and costuming was fabulous. It would also be great to watch with kids. I wish we were shown movies like this in school - I would of had a greater understanding of how this country was founded.

It is called John Adams. It is about early US history, the formation of our gov't and early leaders. It really pulls you into the lives of our early leaders and you feel like you get to know how they lived, their families, and personal lives. It also paints a really neat picture of how and why things happened back then.

It is a 7 part HBO series in a gold box at Wal Mart. Check it out if you can.

Has anyone else watched it?

Here's a link to scenes from the movie:

Watched it twice, the second time with my daughter. I loved the portrayal of Jefferson and Abigail, particularly.

Marvelous miniseries; we loved it. I believe it won several Golden Globe and Emmy awards.

I haven't seen it yet. It looks really good. Perhaps I'll put it on either my birthday or Christmas list.

An old classmate of my husband's recommended it to us several years ago at their 20th reunion. I, of course, went right home and looked online to see if my library had it or could get it for me

I loved it! Great series, very well done, and dh and I learned alot we hadn't been taught in school.
