Had a vet appointment yesterday for the dog and decided to get the few things I had on the grocery list at the IGA store there ... small town but not the one where we usually shop. I'd forgotten it was both the lst of the month AND the Friday before the 4th of July weekend. Almost could not find a parking place and the only reason there weren't fatalities in the store was that the express checkout was almost empty ... but 5 or more overloaded carts at EACH regular checkout stand and no way could you get a cart through the aisles. I picked up one of the carry baskets, had my six items and was gone before I had to strangle someone!
DH and the VFW post had a float in the (very) small local town today. I stayed home in the A/C as usual, cannot deal with the heat and humidity at all. The rest of the weekend we do not plan to get off the hill ... no way I would risk heat, humidty, traffic and all the idiots!
