Vitamins??
I'm curious what kind of vitamins your family takes and what you recommend, don't recommend??
My kids have always done the flintstones vitamins and I have gone the double-flintstone route when I was pregnant... but I don't normally take anything. I'd like to re-establish a healthy vitamin regime (for the entire family). Just would like to know if anyone has any particular recommendations or "don't touch it" opinions.

For the kids, Nature's Plus chewables is a great product. I have seen the results of different tests done with this brand compared to Flintstones and the like. They are made with fruits and veggies and no fillers like Flinstones has. I have recommended them to pregnant and lactating women as well. My kids did not like the watermelon flavored ones though. The grape and orange ones were good. This brand name also makes a whole line of products for the family and for different issues. This brand is carried in any health food store or online. Their site lets you print coupons off as well.

Right now I'm taking a generic multivitamin and a D3 suppliment. Often I just take a D3 and a Folic Acid and nothing else. There is a great deal of debate as to whether the synthetic vitamins do any good (it has to do with whether our bodies can use them). But since I'm a woman of childbearing age I need Folic Acid, and because most adults are Vit D deficient I make a point of taking that one too.
My girls take kids multivitamins, I rotate the brand with every bottle. I figure not all brands are the same, so if we switch it up on a regular basis its less likely that we're missing something. And again, I'm not sure the do any good, but I figure they can't hurt!

I take Drs Country Health mostly. We take handfuls of vitamins and supplements a day because we are just old and need them. Dr. Klassen also recommends other brands and types of herbs and supplements from other manufacturers depending on what people need, but this just happens to be the most common brand I take. Nature's Sunshine is also a good brand of supplements.

Plus I take a blood pressure supplement called sevent flower. I get it from the doctor though, not online.

I buy the gummy bear vitamins at Costco. I don't know what brand they are, but they are pretty good and they just taste like a regular gummy bear so the kids love them. It's nice because they ask for them every morning at breakfast so I don't forget to give them their vites and I don't forget to take my own that way either.

I take a multi-vitamin. Haven't found one of those that I absolutely love, but lean towards Centrum Performance.
I also take CoQ10. This vitamin I couldn't live without.
And then I sometimes take iron when I feel I need it.

Right now I'm taking a whole slew of them in hopes my foot will heal faster and because I can't get my fresh fruits and veggies like I would normally.
generic prenatal vitamin because it has more calcium and vit d and less vit A (IMO there is too much vit A in most multivitamins)
Calcium magnesium supplement
d3 2000 mg
Chondroitin/Glucosamine/MSM combination
Fish oil (blech, causes fish burps)
Bilberry (it keeps my eyes from getting that cloudy junk on them overnight)
Lately I've been taking an herbal supplement called AllerResponse because my allergies have been acting up.

More Than a Multiple: http://www.vitacost.com/American-Hea...le-120-Tablets
Derived from whole-foods with omega 3 and 6.
I try to avoid synthetic vitamins since I doubt the body can metabolize them in any useful manner.

dd (3) takes either nature's plus animal parade or rainbow lite stars plus an omega 3 and a chewable acidophilus. I take either rainbow lite one a day prenatal or nature's plus source of life prenatal, d3, omega 3, magnesium and a chewable acidophilus.
I need to get dd a vitamin d supplement, probably a liquid and some cod liver oil.

Nature's Plus "Source of Life", it's a very comprehensive multiple. I worked in health food stores for years and had a ton of training on vitamins/herbs, etc. I don't think you can beat Nature's Plus.
