How is the cost of living there? Schools? Jobs?

Yes, from 1972 - 2005.
(all thru school and then some)
Cost of living isn't bad, probably below most of Florida.
Taxes stay fairly low because of retirees.
Jobs?
We used to be one of the biggest citrus producers, but they paved and built homes like crazy in the 80's and 90's.
Nothing to replace it - mainly tourist, retail and hospitality.
Now, if you're in the medical field, you might be ok with all the retirement/nursing homes.
My mom taught there for 30 years, pretty good schools.
I usually commuted to Orlando area for work from Eustis.
I like the north end better than the south.
That's about it.

My hubby drives school bus. He's been looking around at the counties and they pay alot better than what they pay here in TN!!
I work from home with my sewing and doll making so that is not a problem.
We found a school there that is just for special needs children that we heard is fantastic. Our current school system is not doing much for DD.

Right now we have to see how much we can get for our house here, and hopefully buy something in the same price range down there. Trying to avoid a mortgage if we can.
