They might have cured a man of AIDS.

They were treating him for leukemia, and his Aids has sort of vanished..... they think. AIDS can go into remission and be hard to find.

I hope they did find a cure for AIDS. It's such a terrible disease that has taken far too many lives.

I lost 2 high school friends to it. Have been hoping many years for a cure, that would be so wonderful!

In 1984-85 the vet that I worked for told me then:

The cure / vaccine for AIDS is in the Feline Leukemia vaccine...mark my words.

I lost a brother to AIDS, he was a hemophiliac and got it from a transfusion.

I have to be skeptical. I don't know a single virus borne disease man have ever "cured". We have learned how to prevent them but once you are infected man can only offer supportive care.

In this case his entire bone marrow was wiped out by chemo drugs, so the new blood cells were completely from the donor. Would be a rough way to cure AIDS and you would have to be in pretty good shape to withstand it...
