Bibs?
When I go off to work every day, I dress accordingly. On the weekends however, I'm home working around the 'stead, and I like to wear my bibs. It's not a fashion statement or anything, they're just the most comfortable thing to work in.
The ladies of the manor however, tell me they are "the ugliest things" that I own, and give me the evil eye everytime I put them on. Does anyone else have this problem? Agree?

personally -to much trouble to use the potty ....and you gotta wear them SO baggy so's when you bend over you dont get a "wedgie" ........ for Men - it's fine !!

I love my bibs!! In the summer I take some older pairs and hack them off just below the leg tool pocket. So of the things bibs have going for them:
Pockets, TONS of pockets. They are like giant tool belts you wear. Pockets to carry tools, screws, keys, watch, money, cell phone, etc. Pockets to put little parts while you are working (one that will even zip up so the parts won't get lost).
Easy on, easy off. I usually wear shorts under my bibs. I come in, pop one strap, slip the bibs off and hang them up by the door. Them I'm clean enough to sit on the easy chair and rest w/o worrying about getting it dirty. When I'm ready to go back to work I slip them on and all my stuff is there (see above about pockets).
When its really hot you can wear them "commando style", i.e. nothing but the bibs (cut offs work best). They are baggy enough to allow for very good air flow while working but at the same time cover what in necessary to be proper if someone shows up.
That's just a start.

I only wear them if I have to, like throwing them on in a hurry when Im wearing otherwise clean clothes.
If we're going to auction I like to wear clean clothes so bibs go over them till we done unloading.
They are a pain when a woman has to go when she's outside. They get in the way 
But for guys? I dunno my dh doesnt own bibs. Sorry Im no help on your biblima.

What does it matter what you want to wear? If you are happy and it does not cost you then wear pink polka dots if you want. Most important thing is being happy. My outfit is t shirt shorts and no shoes.

I don't mind how they look. I would rather see bibs on a well fed country boy than the plumbers crack with jeans. But I hate to wash the durn things, they clatter around the dryer so much. (Yeah, I know, I need a clothesline, but DH doesn't want another thing in the yard to mow and weedeat around.)

Hmmm....I must be a weird lady of the manor. I have always worn them myself for outdoor work and I think my husband looks perfectly fine in them.
Not to thread steal but we call the straps galluses and neither of my DILs have ever heard this and think we made it up. Anyone else that wears bibs refer to their galluses?
I bought everyone in my house new Carhart bibs for Christmas a few years ago - including my DIL the surgeon!

......................I've got probably 15 pair or so in different stages of discombooberation , but I have 3 pair beautifully faded with all buttons and zippers still functional that I prefer above all others ! Normally , when not at work I wear denim shorts from W. Mt. because they fit me good without making me feel stuffed ! , fordy

In the winter my Carhartt insulated overalls every day. There are my absolute favorite piece of clothing I have been thinking about getting some for summer wear to as I find then to be super comfy and I don't have to worry about ruining nice clothes!

DH wears Carhart pants and work shirts. I think bibs would make a nice gift for him...Birthday in July... My father was a Precision Machinist, wore bibs whenever he worked. Since DH is a Machinist/Welder, surprises me he doesn't. How he would look wouldn't matter to me at all. Like Watcher mentioned, he could wear shorts underneath to slip them off, then sit on the couch or chairs indoors, especially for lunch. I draw the line at DH wearing work clothes which are stained and torn up out in public when we are together. My view? If you are working, wear whatever you are comfy in. When you are not working, and out in public, at least wear clean clothes in reasonably decent condition.

Ugh! I Hate them. DH had a pair when we first got married. He wore them all the time. When we moved to Tx they got "lost" in the move. I don't know where they went. And I'm sticking with that story.

I don't mind them at all. A friend of mine wears them all the time and he loves them because he doesn't have to bother with a belt or suspenders...maybe farmwork makes your pants fall down???

I bought a pair for 50 cents at the thrift store many years ago, they are my go-to gardening clothes. I spent a good part of my 20s wearing bibs and a tube top - those days are so over...

Ok. I have am 18 month old. I'm assuming you two don't share a fashion sense. Are these also known as coveralls or overalls? If so, *LOVE* them! Got my first pair last summer and they are so darn comfy! Lots of pockets, lots of room, no need to pull up my pants every time I stand up from the garden.

At the moment I don't like them! My father in law loves wearing them and he always looks so unkempt in them. Once I'm on the farm I might change my mind, I know my mom has some nice bibs she loves wearing out when she has to do chores in the snow. I suppose if they aren't all ratty and grungy they wouldn't be too bad, but I can say if DH had bibs on I would NOT think he's attractive and I would heckle him until he put some of his regular clothes on.

DH put on a pair of bibs (with galluses, of course!) 32 yrs. ago. and except for weddings, funerals and VERY special occasions, that's all he's worn since.
