order came

well we woke up to fresh snowfall yesterday morning and today, my first garden mail order order arrived in the mail..yup..with snow on the ground.

ok this was a fairly small order with 9 raspberry plants and 2 potted kiwi plants..the raspberries were bareroot though, and i hate to have to dig through snow to plant them buggers..however..the sun is out and it is up to 47 so maybe ..just maybe..it will thaw and I'll be able to get them in..they are soaking in a bucket right now.

the kiwi, being potted, can sit on a windowsill for a while.

I came home to my raspberry order also yesterday! It's cold, the ground is still pretty frozen. Our last snow just melted....I was so not ready for them yet. I put them in a bucket of water last night and just got done planting them in one of my raised beds. My hands were numb when I got done...BRRR......where is spring ?

well I DID plant the 9 raspberry plants outside yesterday after most of our snow melted, the ground wasn't frozen under the mulch so it wasn't too difficult to dig 3 weeks after hernia surgery..but i did feel it.

the kiwis are in pots so they are on my windowsill for a few more weeks I think.

probably will start getting more orders every day now until they all arrive..but at least it IS finally warming up some, supposed to get to 50 today
