Ford Major and Rileyjo got lost today

As many of you know, the garden forum moderators are pretty good friends in real life. Tonight, FM and I went off to go buy me a pair of Large Black pigs. I already have 2 gilts and this new boar and sow would give me a nice little herd to help till up my back yard.
I dont know the area at all and I couldnt read FM's writing on the directions so we got good and lost. I think only pharmacists and chickens can read his handwriting. I found the farm at 3207 and a farm at 3212 but there was no lane number for 3211. There was a farm at the end of a long driveway so we drove down to it.

We were still good and lost but the nice folks got us pointed in the right direction and even let us borrow their phone. We got to chatting about chickens and pigs etc and FM mentioned HT. The friendly, helpful people turned out to be Dixydoodle and her husband!!

It really made our day to meet another HTer. Most of the Canadian members are spread across the miles and we dont often get to chat in real life. We also finally found our new, large, ornery pigs and got them home and unloaded in the dark. Getting lost with Ford Major is great fun and always an adventure.:baby04:
Thank you Dixydoodle for your neighbourly friendship and helpful advice!

FM wasn't lost, you were. Women are lost when they can't find where they are going. Men are only lost when they don't know where they are.

I think you were just misplaced. You KNEW you were still in Canada, and KNEW how to get back home, didn't you?

Great on getting to your destination and better on meeting a fellow HT'er

You beat me to posting about it!

Yeah, that was too cool! ford major said, "Hey, here's a site you might like...HT" Ummm, yeah, I used to spend a lot of time in there (before work priorities cut into my net time)....and you are???

**stunned by response**

Oh gosh, we hung out in all the same threads! What are the odds of that, though, we live way out in Boonieville, most people can't even find our place with directions when they are planning to come here!

It was terrific to meet both of you!

That "adventure" is soooooo cool. Not too often that one gets too hard to meet other forum members here in Ontario.

I would say you were more turned around than lost, if you knocked on a door and Texican answered THEN you were lost!

Well, I have no idea how they ended up here, it it so far off the beaten track! Our road looks like a long, dirt driveway off the big paved one, but an official "road" it is! Most people (which is not many, it's pretty quiet here) just think it's a throughway, and then realize they can't go farther down the road, and just turn around in our driveway.

I have to admit, I love the potholes (thanks to the township! LOL) as it slowed down the hot rod neighbours from using it as their unofficial speedway, now they just use the paved road opposite our property.
