I can't sleep!
Sometimes I stay up late on the weekend trying to get things done when the house is quiet. Once I hear my rooster crowing, I realize that it is just easier to stay up. I know that if I try to fall asleep, it will be impossible to wake up and function with only a couple of hours of sleep.
I will go to bed early tomorrow.
Does anyone else have this happen? It seems that there are just not enough hours in the day...I feel like I don't have time to sleep!
I guess I will sleep when I am dead.

For me a little sleep is better than none! There is NEVER enough time to get everything done. I'm fortunate I can get some benefit from 10 to 20 minute naps!

Did you move to your new house yet? It sounds like you have too much on your plate with all your animals, kids and work. Something has to go - maybe housework?.....lol
As you get older you realize that you don't have to be superwoman and learn how to delegate or just cut corners.
This brings to mind an incident 20 years ago, when my dd was 15. I didn't like the way she folded the towels in half and then 1/2 again. I wanted them folded in 1/2 and then 2 folds....she told me "Mom just be happy that I'm folding them" Then I realized that it didn't have to be my way, as long as the job was done neatly. Now I fold all my towels in quarters and she folds in 3's....and now her dd is 13.....

We backed out of the house after the home inspection came back bad, bad, bad!!! The bank was not willing to negotiate on the price, and considering the house needed a new well, complete electrical rewiring, and had a crack in the foundation, we walked. We looked at a few more this weekend and found one we really like.
I do have a rather full plate, but that is because I do it to myself! I am looking forward to having a week off next month....and I am not hosting Easter this year- yeah!
I gave up on the Superwoman idea a long time ago! lol

I just want DD4 to go to sleep! I think I need to start getting up earlier-especially with bottle feeding the calves but I don't go to sleep until midnight as is. DH works 2nd shift so our days and nights are kind of mixed up. I guess I need to act like the day is night and do my housework after he goes to work. Or I need to stay off of HT

It makes her hyper! I've given it to her for the real reason(don't think I haven't pondered giving it to her just to sleep!) but it makes her more awake. She was on tylenol with codeine and the dr was all "it'll make her drowsy". Ha! She was ready to party at midnight! I have had her working out with Jillian Michaels to try and wear her out though lol

Once I hear my rooster crowing, I realize that it is just easier to stay up.
Might Be easier, but when I have that option as choice, somehow SLEEP always wins the argument.
No disrespect toward your rooster alarm clock, but around fifty years ago, when I had to take out tobacco at three or four o'clock every morning, while listening to at least four or five smart Alex roosters blabbing "TIME TO GET UP" to the world, while sounding like they were laughing at me for having to work so early in complete darkness.
I swore if I ever got my hands around those roosters necks, their waking everyone up days was over, its rooster chicken salad on the menu from here on out,or until my rooster supply runs out.
's are welcome here anytime. They do lay eggs and you'll never hear a peep out of them.Recon they peeped out, when they were biddies.Thats all they did back then, was eat, drink, peep and poop.
The only way to tell the biddies gender, was to watch and see which ones were asleep, and which ones seem to get a big kick out of (roosters) waking the others up.
One other way to tell their gender, was to watch which biddies were always challenging the others to a foot race, in order to build their leg muscles, while remembering which biddie hens were fast or slow,,so they could win future foot races when the prizes were really worth something to run for, plus, they had already out run them one time, when they were biddie hens.. lol eb

I feel like I dont have enough time also, and I suffer from insomnia.
What I started to do is edit things out of my life that are not priorities so that I can try to have a managable day.
I got rid of my tv and cable and now i feel like the pace of my days are becoming easier to handle.
Also, I started drinking a few beers at night that have a lot of hops in them. What this does is give me a deeper more restful sleep. Hops help insomnia. Yes, I could drink hop tea, but beer is more fun.

Thanks, Sanza...we are still looking. The problem here in CA is that a majority of the homes for sale are short sales. So many people owe way more than their house is worth. There are few active listings with land that are not a short sale or a thrashed REO.
City Bound- I will try the beer thing because I have serious insomnia! Thanks for the tip.

I have turned into a night owl, I think it the only time I get me time? I am a busy mom to 3 little girls, I have a great husband that works early in the morning so he goes to bed early. I run a small business and run our farm. It seems life gets so crazy and staying up late is the only time I can just relax, watch some tv, and generally enjoy quiet time. I usually sit in bed, with my lap top. I plug in the head phones and catch up on the news, watch a movie?
