wasn't the first one 23 feet?

Still they do not need anything but pretty and stable weather for a good bit of time.

I cannot imagine how it is for those unfortunate people over there since the first earthquake started this mess.

I also heard on TV today that there is a volcano in the southern part of Japan that is due to erupt, or has started. Those poor people just CANNOT catch a break! Earthquake, tsumani, radioactive reactors trying to melt down, a volcano, and now ANOTHER tsunami.

SOMA, Japan – Soldiers and officials in northeastern Japan are warning residents that the area could be hit by another tsunami and are ordering residents to higher ground.

Sirens around the town of Soma went off late Monday morning and public address systems ordered residents to higher ground.

Kyodo News Agency said the tsunami could be 10 feet (3 meters) high, citing Fukushima prefectural officials.

An Associated Press reporter stood about 100 yards (100 meters) from the coast.

The area was hit by a massive quake and tsunami on Friday.

False alarm:

Japanese fears of a second tsunami proved unfounded on Monday, local media said, as the national weather agency made clear that it had not detected a wave on the Pacific coast.
