anyone elses refund get delayed?

I am been waiting 15 days only to find out it may be the 22nd before we get our refund. Normally we get it in less than 5 days. Im just wondering if anyone elses got delayed and how long it took you to get it.

We just filed Monday, says were suppose to get it within 8-15 days.
In past years we have gotten it on the 9th day, direct deposit.
Hope you get yours soon.

DH was told by a tax preparer that anyone filing long form will not have their returns even started before Feb 12...something about tax changes that were expected that didn't happen?

if you do anything other than basic deductions like EIC it would take longer but ours was supposed to be cut and dry. and they say simple returns got delayed. our tax lady did her two daughters at the same time, filed one right after the other and one of hers got delayed and the other daughter has hers already.

I saw that the IRS won't even have everything up to date until Feb 14 because of late changes to the tax laws.

yup, i hear the same thing on the radio, that tax preparers are taking in the taxes but the IRS cant start them until all of the late changes being worked out.

that being said we cant even file until the company that handles my old employers pensions/401Ks gets my form filled out correctly. Seeing that it took them 3 tries to cut the check correctly, i am not holding out hope.

OYu'd think the IRS would want to simplify things. Then again, this is the government we're talking about.

i'd heard on the news that there was a glitch with a bunch of refunds that were supposed to be direct deposited and there were checks sent out instead--could that be the delay?

Still amassing the data for the accountant. Should have it next week.

If the tax code was simplified, they couldn't gouge us with confusion.

I checked the IRS site and it says my refund will be in my account on Feb 11th, which is tomorrow, but no later than Feb 16th.

I'll try to remember to post here if / when I get it.
