Most silly gift we found at every store! Please add yours below

Ok folks here is the silliest gift this year....it is the couch snuggle blanket that goes over your arms...they are thin and not warm like our every day blankets... However they must have something to offer as every store has them!

That is the funny part....they can be purchased everywhere! I think someone must have made too many!

From $29.95 on websites online, to the same price at a computer store????? Then we see it at Grocery Outlet for..... $5.99 now that is more like it! That is probably what it is worth.... We saw it at Walmart and Fred Meyers too???? I kind of wondered if it would turn up at the dollar store...lol. hehehehe

I just wonder how many folks in their buying frenzy settled on this item for those hard to buy for folks? I mean...besides getting them for kids at the Grocery Outlet price....?????? I think the $29.95 was highway robbery as Granny used to say!

I am much happier with our hand crocheted afghans, we lay over the couch...oh my how funny to see those silly couch blankies everywhere we went these past few weeks!

Please add your silly gift item you found commonly this year below!

Thanks! This could be fun to read what all you folks have seen!

The singamajigs, oh my, but I'm sure the kids love them!

The snuggies remind me of the oil crisis in the 70's we all had these couch comforters that would zip up. We got dh's dad one and he was finally warm! Our house was so cold that we both had them too!

I agree on the Snuggies....HOWEVER, that's what my grandson wanted---so yes, I bought one. Much to my chagrin. My hat is off to the guy who invented this dumb gift!

I can't remember where I got it, but I have a singing Christmas Tree...it's a big hit on the front porch---totally dumb! But fun!

MY father was so proud of himself 2 yrs ago. He bought us all (My mom, grandma and I) Snuggies, LOL. He thought they were to coolest thing. I used it that winter as we were in the US on an extended business trip and it was cold to us (we were use to 40's during the day in Hungary....so it was a shock to our system to land in 12 degree weather). It, um, hasn't been unpacked since....not even sure where it is. But it did it's job when I needed it....static, though, was a killer.

Christmas would not be the same for my boys if they did not have 'pooping' jelly bean fun dispensers under the tree!

They love the reindeer ones.

At Walmart there is a flat screen tv that constantly plays Christmas songs with a fire video. I didn't check to see if it was all one package or a video you can purchase. Either way, it's just not a fireplace.
My daughter wanted one of those snuggle blankets too, um no. It is a neat idea, but too bad they aren't thicker.
The musical animated Christmas characters is another goofy gift. Some people like those, but it just seems like another commercialized modern gift.

We had a pooping jelly bean dispenser here somewhere last Christmas, haven't seen it since. It was the Grinch's dog, Max. I bought the kids a little bag of Dr.Pepper jelly beans to go in it after they used up the ones it came with. They thought it was hilarious. Jelly beans cannot be sticky, or they won't dispense properly.

I guess I'm a dork, because I thought the snuggie blankets were a good idea. My arms do tend to get cold and I don't like wearing a sweater all the time, especially when I'm loafing around on the couch. However, I had no idea the fabric was thin. Guess I won't buy one after all.

Last year, I looked into those snuggie thingies. I asked my DD (I think) about the back of them. There is no back!!!!

So, if I get up to do anything, the back is open. How can that be warm?

I haven't seen any silly gifts but the Clapper just breaks me up. According to what I understand, any noise turns on a light. Okaaay.
My cat knocks over something?
My DH (or me) has flatulation?
Someone knocks on the door or the toilet gets flushed?

The possibilities go on and on...

Don't forget "Bigmouth Billy Bass".

I had a fart machine once. Had a crawling baby too. Stuck the fart machine in the babies diaper and I held the remote. Almost killed the MIL laughing.

The snuggie is for sitting on the couch and having your arms free to work on something, hold a book, sip cocoa, etc. If you get up, having no back means you can easily slip out of it and leave it on the couch while you go to the kitchen for chex mix.

I think the Obama chia pet is the best.

I agree about the snuggies. You can't hang 'em up like a robe, and they don't really fold flat like a blanket, so they are a pain in the neck to store. Somebody gave my dd one and I think it's a nuisance.

Anybody else see those $10 non-stuffed dog toys that look like raccoons or foxes? Yeah. I was stupid and got one for my dog, thinking she wouldn't tear it up. Right. It took her less than 5 minutes to chew a big hole in the neck of her "raccoon." There goes $10 bucks. For that I could have bought a few yards of fabric and fiberfill and sewn several all by myself.

Oh yea...the Chia Pets. My granddaughter got me an Obama one--totally dumb. (I'm a Democrat, so I guess she thought that was really funny.)

I saw a more useful version of the snuggie concept at the store day it was an insulated comforter with armholes but I'm pretty sure it went around the back and closed in the front. Now that thing really did look warm and cozy. That wasn't the question though was it. I tend to ignore the useless gift items and focus only on things with a purpose. Cutting boards, knife sharpeners, drinking glasses now those are things you can use.

We are big on stocking stuffers and they are all small and goofy or just for fun. For some reason those toys that are a handle with a dual wire loop like a "J" with the wheel with magets on the axel ends that ride up and over the J and back again are in all the stores here so I got one for DW. We also got the boys (4 of them aged 24 - 30) Nerf machine guns and hillbilly teeth...sounds strange but Christmas has always been a fun time at our place and though we dont spend a lot of money, everyone gets to have some fun.
