I'm supposed to be wrapping gifts

Haven't wrapped a one. Still have a couple of things to buy. The tree is leaning undecorated against the wall in the living room. In unHoliday-related news, my sweeper is broken and I should be figuring that out. There are a few dirty dishes and the ironing is piled high. My daughter will be home in 14 hours and I need to get a bed changed and find blankets and pillows.

What are you supposed to be doing?

3 more fingers and a thumb left to knit on the second glove for my mom.
There is still time though.

I dont smell anything baking. Oh wait, that is MY job?

My unHoliday-related news is that the bottom element is out on the water heater.
Fun times.

I hear ya. I've been heating water on the stove. It was quite a shock to my daughter last time she was home from sunny Florida to find a cold house and no hot water. Now she's coming back to a colder house with no hot water.

I'm supposed to be filling out holiday cards for everyone at DH's family's dinner at SIL's new home finishing off the little hand made gifts.

Unrelated holiday stuff: I need to clear out my spare room and get it ready for my little brother and his wife to stay in for a bit.

Horseyrider, is that a volunteer to help those who just can't seem to get it done?

I've got wood to cut, laundry to hang, dishes to wash, presents to wrap, cookies to make, rib meat to cut and freeze, lunches to make for tomorrow, and a million other things I should be doing.

Show off.

I now have one present in a gift bag and another thriftily wrapped in the exact paper my son carefully removed from his birthday present last month. I hoped wrapping it in a maroon and gold stripe rather than something that screamed "birthday!" might pay off. Didn't even have to fold, just slipped it in and added one new piece of tape. This isn't so bad, guess I'll continue.

gift bags

are the way to go. I even made 3 more gift bags today f/fabric scraps...while I was supposed to be "wrapping". I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow, finish up wrapping & go to the library for some good books. My husband says he's shopping on Friday...and he's been sick, poor man. I think he likes the last minute thing.

Gifts are wrapped, groceries are bought. Ham is thawing, cake and rolls are made. I'm in fairly good shape

Just finished shopping today (actually pretty much started today except for a few that I bought online). Should be wrapping gifts but I've collapsed on the couch, having a beer or three, and I'll get to the wrapping later, LOL!

Everything has been wrapped and under the tree for the past week. Everything is done except the cooking and that will start tomorrow.

I didn't plan on doing anything tonight, we went to the Christmas party last night for my employer and were out late. Worked today, then had to run around and get one last gift. So I knew I would run out of steam tonight. For tomorrow, a lot to do -finish the annual wrap-a-thon, make some fudge and cracker candy and then fix up treat packages, do a bunch of laundry, yada, yada, yada.

Got a fair amount of wrapping done last night. The tree is still not decorated but it IS standing upright. LOL I need to get groceries to make a few snacks for Christmas Eve and the only thing I am taking to Mom's on Christmas Day, which is the vegetable. Not sure what vegetable but I better decide by tomorrow....

Still need one gift and a gift card.

hmm - stuffing is made, cake is iced, pudding is made apart from the final stage, ham is cooked, some parcels are wrapped but not all yet, but I have my mothre coming for dinner - house looks like the aftermath of Hiroshima (and yes she will let me know she isn't impressed) and I have now come down with DD's cold

Apart from that Christmas is coming along just nicely

Had to take vacation time or would lose it as of 1/1/11 so shopping is done, cards are mailed and gifts for dd are wrapped except for a couple that will go in gift boxes once she is through snooping. There are bowls of oranges, apples, tangerines, bannanas, and mixed nuts (on which we are using the decorative nut cracker men since I can't find the metal spring thingy!), Tonight we have crackers and cheese spread and dips and champagne with all the candles and trees lit and open one gift each. Tomorrow we eat out and see a movie. Merry Christmas to all...and thanks for being my gift all year long. I really love (and need!) my HT family!!!!!
