This is about the first Thanksgiving in 20 years I am not working 12 hours as a phone triage..feel kind of at loose ends.
DS has a 24 hr shift (Army) and DD is working 8 hrs at the 24/7 store she works at.
I am grateful to our military, our police, our fire rescue, our heallthcare workers, and our staff at the "open all night" stores and restaurants that are open today for our needs and convenience. I hope their blessings are many.
I'll admit mothernature, it never occured to me that petsitters would be some of those working today...thanks to them, pets don't have to risk cargo flights in unpressurized holds or long car trips with attendant risks...so thank you to all pet care staff everywhere also.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, I have worked on every holiday everyyear of my adult life, when your a farmer the animals all still need taking care of. At this very special time of year I love making sure the animals have a little extra for the holiday season. > Thanks Marc

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I will always remember the wonderful Thanksgivings when I was a child at the ranch, although there were always still chores to be done morning and evening. No day off with those.

Much of my adult life I worked shift work and once grandparents were gone, parents spending winter months in Arizona andkids were grown/gone I always volunteered to work on the holidays, sometimes double shifts, to give those with families the day off.

Thanks to all those keeping us safe and standing by on duty in case and doing those things that can not be put off for 24 hours. We are thankful for you all!

In our military town, working on the military base, I'll have a very easy commute to work tomorrow since the rest of the post (and DH) has a 4 day weekend including Friday. I took a 4 day weekend at Veteran's day. Also doubt all of my scheduled appointments will show up! I'll get on the computer and do continuing education if there are lulls in the schedule.

Working in the Fire Dept today. Honestly, I cannot recall a Thanksgiving I have had off in 14 years of employment here.

No doubt! I gave my moo girls a 50 lb. sack of sweet feed to fight over. They were like piranhas ...
