Oy Vey..vet visit.small drama

DH took the girls in for their booster shots. Calls to tell me Betsy, the shortlegged, extra small yet previously stuffy beagle (she has lost weight recently, I can feel it on her, not a fan of scales) is 51.3 lbs!! I told him no way, put him and said beagle on scale(after they returned), and she is 22 lbs max. Apparently, my 12 yr old son was leaning on the scale...should I be worried about the vaccine (mostly rabies) dose??
btw...betsy is 14

Wanted to add...The only thing the weight would affect in a typical vaccination exam is the de-wormer. That is figured by weight. And if that happened I wouldn't worry about that either.

Yep, what Minelson said. All vaccines for dogs and cats are done by the same dose, not by animal weight.

You would think the vet would have noticed. "Wait a minute, this doesn't look or feel like a 50#dog. Let's try again."

Don't anyone flame me but I have a beagle that weighs more than that, Mine is 67 pounds. He's alot taller than normal also though. The breeder we got him from has both parents & he's more than 3 times the size of the mom & over twice the size of the dad. The breeder said he doesn't know what happened to him. Vet say's there has to be fox hound some where back in his bloodline.

Ravenlost, ME TOO!! When Dh called to say "guess how much Betsy weighs" I was expecting a lower number, as she is getting very old and losing a bit of weight...she is a shortlegged, small dog. He insisted the vet couldnt be wrong! thats why I insisted we weigh her at home, when ds mentioned he might have been leaning on the metal.
Thanks all for your advice, I worry about her, as she is a gentle old soul in her senior years. Seems like the only harm is an insulted ego (I'm not fat, I'm fluffy )

When Betsy was heavier we always called her "Stuffy" for "stuffed sausage dog". You could always call him that!!
He sounds like he is on the largest end of the spectrum while Bets is closer to the smaller...just like kids (Betsy was the runt, too)
