What is it called?

I've been trying to price dishwashers online. The one I want is small, is set down into the counter top, and opens from the top. I don't know what to call it to google it correctly. I can't find one anywhere but I know they exist.

I've never heard of that!

But then who needs a dishwasher when I have 3 dogs to do the job for me?

Real Close LisaInN.Idaho

I finally found it...called an In-sink dishwasher...discontinued.

Well, I couldn't have afforded it anyway at $1,800.00

They do have this though. It's only $1,000.00. Hmm Maybe...

Dishwasher

I have a small kitchen. A one butt kitchen is what SIL calls it. Anyway, I have an 18 in front loading dishwasher. Got about 5 yrs ago from Lowe's for $500.

If size is an issue, what about one of the drawers?

When I was a kid, we had a dishwasher on wheels that had a hose that connected to the sink faucet and used the hot water from that and had a second hose that drained into the sink and out the drain.

When I lived in a small mobile home, I had a washing machine that operated on the same principal.

All less than $400:

http://www.nextag.com/countertop-dis...e/compare-html

I remember getting a plastic countertop dishwasher in the 1970s from Zayres. It cost maybe $40, had a rack, a 20" square bottom, a top, a hose, and a couple of spinner spray wands. It couldn't take off any serious dirt, but did a good job of sanitizing (with the hot water we used to have those days).

This is exactly the kind of dishwasher we bought this year, they call it a portable dishwasher. It takes up a fair amount of floor space in the kitchen, but I LOVE having the extra work surface (it's got a laminated counter top finish on top) and it's like a rolling kitchen island, something I've always wanted

I don't have nearly as much cabinet space as I need so, since I never used mine anyway, I had my son remove it and I gave it to my DD who wanted one. I am enjoying the extra space.

Yup- my mother has the same thing. Bought hers at a yard sale, IIRC.
