Sometimes old habits are best

Even with a new twist.

The older I get, the more I hate to go to town and shop. Grew up getting almost everything from the catalogs because a trip to town was usually "not on winter roads" as well as being a major, all-day trip.

Lately, for me, it's been back to catalog shopping, though with a modern twist. On-line catalog shopping and eBay!

So far, the shoes fit, the pants fit and the shipping wasn't any more than it would have cost to drive to town and run around to six different stores trying to find what I wanted. And that is not even factoring in the wear and tear on my disposition, which in this heat can pretty much be described as old and crochety without any additional irritations.

Just got through making several local phone calls yesterday trying to find the fly spray I prefer, with no success at all ... responses everywhere from "what's that?" to "I'm not sure, let me check" ... and after holding for 10 minutes "Is someone helping you?"

Found it on line in 10 minutes and it's already been shipped!

Me, too. I am doing more of our purchasing on-line. I live in a tourist area and in the summer our little town is literally taken over by rude, impolite, pushy tourists. I avoid town at all costs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. With stocking the pantry to the hilt in the late spring and buying on-line, I rarely have to leave the place in the summer.
