as a minimum call your friend and let them know.
don't let them park "here" . if you see the car parked. call the sheriff and report a suspicious car. when i've called about cars parked along the road. (only 3 houses at the end of my road) the deputy checks the tag and will ask if i know so and so. then you have a name to give to your friend.

Call the DNR or what ever game or forest agent you have there. Good luck getting them, Sam

It seems that you have a 'village idiot' problem too! We have a creek that runs thru our property, and as such, a bridge. One day while driving over the bridge I saw several small children playing in my 'yard' in a very dangerous spot. I stopped and asked where their parents were. Not getting an answer, I started to call the sheriff when here comes Mom & Dad with even more kids. I asked them hat they thought they were doing on private land and was told that they were just rock hunting. I asked them for their address , they asked why. I told them that I wanted to go to their house and see what I could find in their yard that I might want to take. They looked at me like. I was nuts-but they left empty handed.

Thank you. We have had many problems with trespassers here. Since I'm only 4'11" most of them tend to not take me seriously, so I have to be creative when I confront them. Of course 2 large dogs and a 30-30 help..

I grow ginseng. I hope if any of my neighbors know of poachers, they would call me and the law.

Collecting this time of year, before seeds set and ripen, ensures that they are depleting the supply.

Since I planted purchased stock, I am a farmer and it is a federal crime for anyone to touch my ginseng crop, in addition to the state harvest laws that are applicable.

I'd hate to think that my daughters might not have their college funds when they need them because of thieves, its bad enough to know that the deer and groundhogs might eat my crops.

Please follow Sam's advice.
You are doing the right thing!
