Hi - update from Sparticle

HI there. Miss you guys. Since we've moved to the RV we have no internet and have only had time to check emails at the library. It's pretty far to come to town, but I'm here today!

We're doing great. We should have phone and internet within a month - maaaaaybe next week but I think they are just teasing us. We're using one solar panel for the lights in the RV, but we can't run anything else which is fine. The barn is mostly up and the house site mostly cleared. It's being done by hand so it's a little slow going.

I can't post pictures on photobucket or get to my facebook account and can't figure out how to do it here either without those two. Maybe soon.

Miss reading all your stories. I don't care if it's full of ticks, I LOVE THE OZARKS!

Hey Sparticle, Glad to hear from you again! We just got a 3G MiFi mobile hotspot for our ranch. We had checked into getting DSL there, and it wasn't available.

We get great cell phone service here from Verizon, and with this mobile hotspot we can have up to 5 users on at the same time. I used it in the car when hubby was driving us here the other day. since the area where we were was always within range of a cell tower, I was able to surf the net on the road! And it is faster than the DSL we have at our house in the burbs.

The Mifi device is described as being the size of 5 credit cards stacked together. Very tiny and very effective! You might consider getting one, as you could use it in your motorhome while the house is being built, and then move it to the house when it is built.

If you get one of these, and you have cell phones for communications, you probably don't need a land line phone at the house. We may give up the land line at our ranch when we make the permanent move, since it really won't be needed. Something to think about.
