It's so dry this spring so far....

That there are brush fires starting! http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/l...32b33b611.html

I've never seen a brush fire round these parts in the 7 years I've been in NW indiana. I've never seen the pond at the back so low. I've never had to lug buckets and buckets of water to the veggie garden.......and certainly never in March!

Give us our rain back, who ever stole it!

I belive it. You must be stuck in the same weather system as me. LOL I can throw a rock and hit michigan from my yard. I've litterally NEVER seen it rain so little in the 7 years i've lived in Indiana. We haven't even flooded once yet this year. This must be some kind of record.

Wow, it's amazing how different the weather can be just a few miles away. It's wet here. It's finally not muddy but we've got more rain predicted on Saturday. We're in central IL.

I'll send you some liquid Oregon for those cracks. We have sun today but this morning was ice and the last two days before that was a downpour. I live on a hill and still had standing water ankle deep. Go figure.

Some one pulled a switch and moved Texas north. We've had LOTS of rain, cold and snow this year. This is not like Texas. They are predicting more rain tomorrow. Our road is just now starting to dry and now more mud.

Our driveway is just now passable. We've had standing water everywhere.

We're having a hot and windy spell here, temps up to 80 and 40-50 mph winds! We normally have at least several large brush fires out here each spring, usually accidental. However, we had a big brush fire just west of me two nights ago that someone deliberately set! It spread to a storage unit and then to a natural gas line, it was pretty big, came within a mile of my house. I was on the lookout and ready to bug out if needed.

We usually have people who think there's no problem burning scrap, trash or whatever in these kinds of winds and are then totally surprised when it gets away from them, and we have lots of idiots who toss lit cigarettes out of their cars, despite numerous fire hazard warnings on TV and the radio. I'd like to just brain both types! As if that wasn't bad enough, now we have arsonists who think it's a game. We've had three fires set in this area in the past two weeks, arrgghh.

Within a couple of weeks though we'll probably be drowned by our usual spring deluge of rain! That will then rapidly give way to muggy 90-110 degree days without a breath of wind to be found. There's just no winning weather-wise in Oklahoma, lol.

NickieL we had 84 yesterday and left the windows open now for 3 days..3 days..can you believe it..i got so hot yesterday i had to take a break from work and hubby had a horrible sunburn. what's up with that?

I'm not complaining....but you know it is likely all of our trees blossoms will get snapped by a frost this spring..

the forcast for this next week..is around 60 for highs..60...i can live with 60..really rather have that than 84 !!!! and they say maybe some rain on Tu and We so we can hope..

i haven't gotten my cold weather garden in, cause it is too hot and dry..may have to hold off my cold weather plants till a fall garden

I love the warm weather, but we NEED rain. It looks like late summer out there, not spring. Our forecast says maybe some showers tomorrow and then more next week. Here's hoping.
