Bad turns good...

On Monday night Old Blue Sue got hit by a car. That is bad.
We put her on a sheet and brought her in. She had blood from her nose and mouth. But then she got up and walked. This is good. And she continued to shape up through the week.

Here is the really, really, really, really good part.
She has undergone a complete personality change!!!

No chasing chickens. Doesn't even look at them, not even the chicks in the house. She is outside in the yard and the chickens are free too. Not even a glance!
She stays close by. Used to be if she was out in the yard she would dance about 3 feet away from you and not let you get your hands on her. Now, she comes happily when called.
She brings the ball back and actually gives it to you. She used to stand 3 feet away and mouth it only.
She can be free in the house. No cat food. No trash. No hyperness. She finds a place to be and 'be's' there. I caught her and the boy stretched out on the floor together earlier. She even wanders into her crate to sleep.

This is awesome! She has become the great dog I knew she could be! She is a treat to be near and not the absolute scourge on the family that she was.

Oh and she seems to no longer be viscious! This is good. She would try to kill the people across the street or anyone that wasn't the core family. She is out and the lady came out to sweep and Sue glanced up and then went on her way.
Also, DS just ran through the yard... with her happily and respectfully on his heels. Not jumping all over the place. They are now on a walk through our woods together.
I am so happy I could cry.

Wow! That is great! But I don't think I'll mention this to folks at work who have complaints about their dog's bad behavior lol!

Sometimes God can change a heart with a gentle whisper. Other times He needs to whack you with a Buick.

Is he eating and playing ok? If he's not as active as before then he may have a massive headache. Which means there may be a brain bleed. I'd have him checked out by a vet especially since he was bleeding from nose and mouth.

I second that! He definitely should be checked.

Oh... she is fine..considering.
Appetite - fine
Interest in life - fine
Elimination - fine
Tail wagging - fine
She is still a bit sore and that is understandable.
More than anything I think it because we went out to the bad, bad, bad place and brought her into the good, good place. I think it was a perspective shift.
She is still young.. just over a year.. and needed an attitude adjustment.
She was thinking that she ruled the world adn all things went according to her plan.
Now there is a deeper understanding.

Oh and she turns her head away when a car goes by..

This may sound awful, but the same thing happened when mom had her first mini-stroke. Apparently it did away with the angry and mean part of her brain. We got along better than we had my whole life. The criticism and hostility was gone.

Tickled pink that the pup is doing okay, but Tonya, that is PURE GOLD!
