Really; I've not seen nor heard of them in the least up till now. Usually when it happens it's obvious; but I've been surfing HT all morning long, with no problems.

Matter of fact, if you see it again, can you give me the exact error message you get? (Or is it just that generic 'database error' message?)

I just had a flurry of them. Was fine until about 10 minutes ago. Then every thread I'd get database error page..and then refresh and the thread was there.

might be something to watch. I'm on DSL, with firefox and have never had the problems others do with logging in, getting online, etc.

eta: just noticed a Google Ad line inbetween posts on this thread, too. That's new for me to see. It's always been above the first post...at the moment, it's inbetween the posts. (I may just not have noticed it in this forum).

That's weird; I'm almost about to take off for church, so can't do much now. But when I get home I'll look @ it and take care of it.

Actually, having checked some things now, I can see where some of the tables have 'overhead' values, which is usually indicative of tables needing to be repaired; so I'll see if I can't do that now. Might need to secure the site for a few, though; which is why I'll probably wait until after church to do much more.

Ok, I ran a repair on the culprit tables; other than two of them (which aren't related to the problem, I don't think) everything went fine. If problems still exist, let me know and I'll tackle it after church.

I haven't been getting the database error page, but the whole forum is slower than cold molasses for me. Pages change slowly, they scroll slowly, and when I type, each letter takes close to a second to appear on the screen. I type a sentence and then sit here for a while watching it slowly pop up on the screen! On top of that, every time I change pages, I'm logged out again! It's getting very frustrating, and I haven't been posting much here because of these issues. I know it's not my computer, because I only have these issues here. (Although TB2K uses the same hosting program and it's started to get a little slow at times.)

Kathleen

ETA, if it matters, I'm on DSL, and use Firefox.
