OH Ultimate Joy!!

Finally, after almost 3 years of asking, DH took the door off the pantry!!
Do you know what this means!?
It means I can rearrange! It means I can use shelves more efficiently! It means I can just step in without the full body twist of squeezing past the door and closing it behind me to get to the shelves behind it!!
Oh Ultimate Joy! I get to spend the rest of the day working on the pantry!!
And I feel good sharing because I know you guys won't think me strange to look forward to a day full of work!
Before and after pics to follow!

Okay, I have to ask, why did you have to wait for him to take the door off?

In my family you do it yourself or you make them do it. My Mom took a sledge hammer to the wall between my room and the living room with-in days afer I moved out. No waiting for the man of the house in my world.

Have fun in your pantry!! I am like the others...if I want something done & it has been a bit I will do it myself. Most of the time before I even get started the husband takes over! It is my little trick...lol!

I had him to do it because it was a huge, huge door that I could not have lifted if my life depended on it and because the hinges had been painted over about a hundred times so I couldn't take the screws out. And the hinges, or rather the pins, were the permanent kind that had to be driven out with hammers and chisels etc... it was quite the process...
and that is why someone much taller and stronger than myself was needed for the job.

If it is a job that I can do, I do it. But I have the sense to know what would send me back to the chiropractor and cost us a fortune that we do not have.

well, woman. It's been 2 hours since the first post. Aren't you done yet? <tapping toe>. We're waiting for those pictures!

(I'm still asking when the doors will go back ON here...)

I'm sorry to make you wait, Ann.
The before...

And the after..with every shelf wiped down with Dr. Bronner's Eucalyptus..
I didn't paint the wooden floor, but I will one day.
OH Ultimate Joy!! - Countryside Families

All better now. I will hang a cafe rod adn a lovely light green curtain that can be whisked easily to the side... aaaahh. bliss.
Now to clean the kitchen and make dinner.. but I am taking a break first.

You know.. it looks really small, but those are big, deep shelves and the big jars are gallon jars..or 1/2 gallon jars...the canned goods are three deep back in there..

The door opened INWARD? Oh that would have driven me nuts too.

Love the pictures! I wouldn't even bother with the curtain--It looks lovely.

Well I'm glad for you. My door to the pantry opens in, the only way it can go tho. Behind it is where we hang our coats, the rest is shelves.
