Companies that look out for their customers...

I just wanted to acknowledge publicly the Goody Company (www.goody.com) and how they responded to me. As some of you know I (and DW) have long hair. We both prefer the goody hair holders that consist of 2 plastic balls with elastic. We haven't needed to buy any for a while as they come a dozen in a package and we had bought a number of packages on sale a while back.

As we were starting to get short on our reserves I started looking in various local stores but couldnt' find them. I went to their website and it indicated that CVS (among other stores) carried their products. I could find brushes and other items but not these particular ones so I left a message on their website asking if they knew where I could buy them.

Goody responded promptly and gave me contact information for a distributor that would be able to sell them to us if we couldn't find them in any local stores. They also sent me two packages by mail to "tide us over". I wasn't looking for any freebies but I appreciate the thoughtfulness on their part.

Mike

Excellent service and response!

Cabela's is another one that actually cares and will respond personally to a problem.

Smartpak Equine is a fabulous company with great customer service if you have horse related needs. Their customer service people HAVE horses and know their stock and are knowledgeable and will tell you what products work best.

I am a fan of good customer service!

I know a company that cares a great deal for its customers. I own it. My clients have allowed me to feed, house and care for my family. Everything I have is because of their loyalty and trust in me. I very much look out for them, and not only professionally. They are my bread and butter and they are also friends. I am also the client of other small businessmen who treat me the same.

That is cool. Maybe that is why Goody has been around for so long.

The Rival Co. is another on the list. About a year ago, I got a 22 qt. roaster oven from Sam's. It was in the discount area at a substantial discount due to one foot missing. I propped it on a cutting board when I used it.

Just after I bought it, I called customer service and asked if replacements might be available. They weren't at that time but the rep was rude and rushing me. For whatever reasons, I didn't call back for a supervisor.

Fast forward to a month or so ago, I decided to call again. This rep was as different as night and day. Still no replacement foot, but oh well, the cooker was Cheap!! When I complimented her on being so helpful and nice in comparison to the other call, she thanked me and then told me that quite a number of reps had been fired for similar complaints.

She asked to put me on hold for a moment. When she returned she informed me that they would be sending a replacement roaster oven to me !!! I told her that wasn't necessary, that it wasn't a Rival issue-but she and supervisors agreed that it was the right thing to do. Within days, I received another 22 qt. stainless roaster oven-FREE!! These things retail for about $50-60.

Lehman's is another company that is worthy of mention. I ordered the book, "How to develop a low cost family food storage system", from Lehman's and when I received it, the book was an obvious mutant version of the original. The book I got actually started with page 27!

So, I called Lehman's. They said "no problem". Got the new book the same week. Didn't even have to return the mutant copy.
