Another home design question- front stoop

I have a covered deck the length of the house out front (covered 6' out from the front door).
And to get in to the entrance, there are a couple steps up, then a 3' stoop (to stand while unlocking, or whatever).

The builder has the stoop on a slant. Yup, the plans have it at a slant as well.
But... is there any reason to have a slanted stoop, if there is clearly no chance of weather hitting it? Is this "normal" or I'm thinking maybe the slanted stoop is more for those who may have rain landing on the stoop for drainage?
I'm not wanting to make waves with the builder, I just want everything to make sense.

It feels weird standing on it actually.
Do you have a covered porch like this by chance?

Thanks again.

Look at your bubble level, preferably 4', but at least 2' long. It should have four lines on it, two dark inner lines and two lighter outer lines. The normal slant for a porch should only have the bubble just touch the outer line. Anything more than that is excessive. That "half-a-bubble" marking is sufficient for water run off on a porch, and also for drain lines when you are doing plumbing.

It keeps water from running towards the house or pooling on the stoop

Thanks, I will then get the slant levelled! In the worst of storms, water will not get up there.
