Baked goods

I am going to a market/sale barn this weekend to (hopefully) sell some chickens and rabbits. I know baked goods always sell well, and am planning on taking some bread and donuts. Any ideas on what else to take?

Homemade cookies! I'm partly biased, because I'm baking some right now for friends, but everyone loves cookies, and they're easy to transport. Since it's October, you could make these- http://therecipegirl.blogspot.com/20...n-cookies.html I stumbled across that idea today. It's so cute!

Other than that, I would think pies would do well, too!

Pumpkin bread, carmel apples, popcorn balls? I love the candy corn cookies. My granddaughter just saw them and is going to make them this weekend.

Quick breads, like cinnamon, date, raisin, cranberry, apple, etc. I have had luck making small loaves and selling them. They are easy to make and if you slice one and put small pieces on a plate for tasting people will buy them. Just be sure to ask if they have allergies and tell kids they need to ask their mom if they can have some.

do you have to have an inspected kitchen to sell baked goods? (we do in PA)
or is your sale informal?

how about brownies? (w/ peanut butter or cream cheese)
GOOD LUCK!

I knew y'all would have some great ideas! Thanks bunches!
Now just to keep my kids out of all the yummy treats we will be making!
Heather, I was worried about that so I called today to find out if a license would be required...and was informed there are no requirements for baked goods. I am waiting on my egg license so I can sell fresh eggs there next time though.

Where are you located at? Or, what market are you going to? would be the better question.

I'm on the other side of the state. North of Vincennes.

I am going to be jobless(by choice) after the first of the year and have been looking into Farmer's Markets and things like that. So I was curious. I want to visit some but it is late in the season for that.

Funny - That's the opposite around here - I sell eggs w/ no license (there are a few minor requirements) but can't do baked goods - HA!

GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN!!!
