saw my first wooly worm of the season.

yesterday I was sitting out enjoying the evening when I noticed something crawling up my pant leg. It was a little wooly worm. The first one I've seen this summer. It was pure white. Now I can't remember if the lore states that white is the sign of an easy winter or bad. I know there are a few of you here that will know though. So what does a pure white wooly worm supposedly predict?

Warm winter with deep snow. You notice he was headed for higher territory. <>UNK

Around here, he'd be trying to escape death by drowning.

Not a true wooly bear. There are a dozen possibilities for your little white caterpillar but true wooly bears are the larvae of the Isabella Moth.

I don't know if it's a TRUE wooly worm or not. Just know that it looks just like all the others I used to play with as a kid that came in brown, black, white and two toned. We always referred to them as wooly worms, and Granpa used to tell us about markings and what they meant for winter. He used to tell us about what the spider webs meant too. as well as other things in nature that he used. Not sure that he believed all of it...but he used to say "they're about as accurate as the local weatherman"...which depending on your weatherman might not be saying too much LOL.
