Holy Cow! Hail!!!

We just had a huge hail storm come through. (I'm currently at work) It hailed for 10 straight minutes..no exaggeration. They were all about dime to nickle size ... nobody here can ever recall seeing it hail for such a sustained period of time.
I'm more than a little nervous to go home tonight and see what it did to my beautiful plants. My pepper and tomatoes were especially beautiful...

Oooohhh, I hope your plants are in good shape! There is a storm about to blow through here from the west...Jax is a bit nervous, but I love storms.

Thanks Billie.. I wish I could run home and check on them...lol...
I don't mind a good thunderstorm every so often but the hail I could do without
It looks like the biggest part of the storm by you is southwest of you so you probably won't have it too bad. The one moving through Medina County is taking it's sweet time however...atleast the worst is past me now.

Was it Vermont? Mass? Can't remember where, but there were videos of people SHOVELING with snow shovels, the hail. over 5 inches in a matter of minutes? That was just freaky.

sure hope your plants are okay...and your house, car, kids....

Storm came through here about an hour ago, rain, thunder and giant hail!
Now it is nice out and 15 degrees cooler.

Bend, OR had hail a few weeks ago that folks were shoveling...was that what you were thinking of, Ann?

So, sweetcountrygrl, did your plants survive?

Got an update for us, Jen?

Our storm was just a big thunderstorm. Our address is Jeromesville now (didn't know if you knew we had moved) and we gets all kinds of freaky weather. The on-line weather channel will say that we have 0% chance of precipitation and it will be raining buckets outside.

I had to wait until I could get in to work to log on this morning as the storm blew out my cable and internet. (We had another big storm come through just after I got home around 5pm and it was extra heavy on the lightning and wind) Hopefully they will be able to come this afternoon and fix it.
My poor plants really took a beating. They were perky and lush when I left for work yesterday and looking kind of pitiful when I got home. I lost a couple of the smaller tomatoes and one of the pepper plants looks like it probably isn't going to make it but I think I got lucky all things considered. It's kind of heart breaking to be at the mercy of the weather sometimes. When Dave and I were farming I can't begin to tell you how stressed out the weather made us. (Last year was a drought year down in good old Harrison County and we had record numbers of plants planted for the markets we were selling at)
Billie - I remembered that you had moved down there. I'm so happy for you that you all finally got to move there! I'm sure Jax LOVES it! We all really need to have a get together again sometime. (I'm living up in northern Medina county now)

He certainly does! He says "it's like we're camping all the time".

I'm up for a get together most any time!

Ha Ha...Willow, I wondered if you had lost your mind until I left and came back and realized that your post was prompted by the thread title. I'm a dunce. I thought you were just ramdonly posting pictures of angelic cows.

We had the booming storm move through here about 4:00 am. Knocked out electric and just now got service restored. I had to get up and shut all the windows and just stayed up reading on my new book. There was enough constant lightening to see pretty good.
