Do you ever have those days where...

you find every excuse to NOT do the things you need to? That's me today. I need to clean the kitchen, wash clothes, put up clothes, etc....instead I'm piddling around with old sewing machines. I just don't want to do anything major. I blame it on the fact that it has been busy and hectic around here. This is the first day in a couple of weeks where I haven't had to leave the house and I'm out of sorts. I feel like I need to go somewhere but at the same time don't want to go anywhere! Tomorrow I'll be on the go again....but it will be a fun go. I'm going to a get together of people who use treadle sewing machines in the hope that someone can teach me!

LOL...the real question for me is do I ever NOT have one of those days! And the answer would be NO!

Sounds like you need a break. Take one while you have the chance!

It helps to psychologically fool yourself by working at a chore for "X" amount of time in order to earn time doing what you really want to do. In other words, tell yourself you'll do the dishes first, then play with the sewing machine unitl 2, then vacuum, and return to the sewing machine after that. I find I can actually get chores done during commercials or between chapters of a novel and therefore not feel deprived as I would if I worked straight through. I've also trained myself to fetch and carry...I pick up stuff on my way to another room if it belongs there. I'm too lazy to just take stuff where it needs to be unless I'm heading in that direction anyway

Whenever we've really pushed ourselves doing things we have to do, a day to do what we enjoy doing is good for us.

Yes! I've been having one of those days today. Yesterday, I cleaned and re-arranged 2 rooms and turned a closet into a pantry. (FINALLY!) I also did every last scrap of laundry in the house! So, I was quite comfortable with taking the day off to just crochet.

well I've wasted basically my whole day...I did do 2 loads of laundry, and dd is cleaning the kitchen. Other than that I cleaned the treadle machine I got the other week really good and worked on the cabinet to it a little. I also worked on my quilt a little and took some pics of the kittens and a butterfly I saw outside.

To answer your question: yes ... I'm on HERE aren't I?

(If I am on during the day, you can bet I'm putting off something.)

Usually I am on here at night when all the chores are done ... but, right now, I am justifying being HERE because the clothes are fixing to be on their final spin cycle.

I always seem to find an excuse to plop down "real quick" to see what's going on ... this place is addicting.

Yep, I have those days too. Usually, for me, it's when I seem to have too much on my plate or I've been too busy to take some time for me....yeah, I know, it's all about ME.

I purposely make lists that I know I won't accomplish a thing on ....but I feel good about myself because I made the list. It's a procrastinator's trick. I am doing something without doing anything.
