Breaking News in Monroe, Michigan

A child's body has been found in Raisinville Township in or along the River Raisin in Monroe, Mi. My two sons live in that township. How awful! It is being discussed on Nancy Grace. There was a report that the body was encased in cement blocks. Many rumors coming out.

Yes, I heard that on Nancy Grace. I just don't know what to say, it's so sad and maddening too, that the mother was living with a known child molestor.

I just saw on TV where a family member had identified her as Nevaeh. I'm sorry to have bad news.

It will be interesting to find out who has done this to Nevaeh. The obvious "persons of interest" may not even be the guilty ones. Could be someone who observed the child not often being supervised and used the opportunity to take her. There are many more perverts out there than the ones accused by the community.

Remember that her name is heaven spelled backward...now she is safe in heaven.

this is where I live, my husband and I have been following this story with a lot of sadness and prayers since it first came out. At least she is at peace now, but I hope whoever is responsible never knows peace again. My prayers for her, and that the killer/killers are caught soon.

BTW, what kind of mother lets a child her age play outside alone at that time of night? I think the whole story (the mother's explanation, I mean) is most probably a lie. Sadly, too many people who should never have children often do.

A criminally negligent one.

This is so heart breaking! I can't imagine what the family is going through. I pray the killer meets justice!

What a sad, sad ending to the short life of a beautiful little girl. She deserved so much more in her 5 years on this earth... but is in a much better place now.

The mother was on probation after participating in a home invasion. She didn't have custody of the child, her mother was the child's legal guardian. She was breaking the conditions of her supervised release by associating with the friends she made, who were sex offenders. And they were breaking their conditions by visiting the home where a child lived. The whole thing is a huge mess, it seems no one was looking out for the child, only themselves. Sad story no matter how you look at it.

The one thing that gives the best lead is where the killer disposed of her body. The area is a place that only a local would know about, and by taking the time to dig a shallow grave and mix and pour cement over the body shows he wasn't too concerned about being caught doing the deed. Hopefully he left evidence that will lead to his arrest before this can be done to another child.

Such a sad story! It sure seems like there are so many crazy, sick people out there. I will never understand how anyone can hurt a child, hurt anyone actually.
There seems to be more & more stories like this lately, or maybe it just seems that way to me.
