Doctor appointment.

It went well! She is happy to see the infected area is healing, although it's draining like crazy! Besides a lot of gauze draining pads I actually stuff a rag in my sock to catch it all.

I'm off the antibiotics.

She is increasing the medication dealing with my crazy nerve endings. I had a terrible situation in which if I'd scratch any part of my body, the nerve endings in the infected area would scream with pain. She doesn't know why. Perhaps it is due to polio or simply a quirk of my body, but it was horrible.

I can use Vicodin at my discretion and she will see me in a month. Am not going to take morphine again if possible. it makes me fuzzy and out of it and give me horrible nightmares.

I told her that my DD was thinking of making me some "special" brownies and she never blinked an eye. She said there were worse things to ingest!
I like that lady!

Haven't been around HT much so I'm not up to date on what's been going on with you Ardie but it sounds like you've been having a rough time. I'm glad your appointment went well and you have a doctor you like. Sure hope you're on the mend soon and able to get out and enjoy some spring weather.

Will be thinking of you.

Pauline

Well...er...GOOD NEWS! that you're healing and off the antibiotics! That itchy scream with pain nerve endings sounds nasty but if the vicodin words for you, life should be easier. I wonder if the nerve ending thing could be controlled with the special brownies? At least you wouldn't CARE that the nerves were screaming....

I'm glad to hear the infection is on the mend Ardie, but I'm sorry about the itching..that sounds very unpleasant.
