the down side of spring..

I can handle rodents. I can handle snakes. I CANNOT handle spiders, and have seen 3 today. one TOUCHED MY PERSON, so that scream you may have heard was just me. lol

and scream I did/do. like a real girl...loud...robust....SCREAM.

I have spider cooties, I just know it.....

and I'm not talking about the evil smaller ones, which make me shudder. I'm talking about those alien species as big as a small cat for crying out loud.

Down side of Spring

Give me the spiders!! But take this wind away! We always have wind but in the spring it is worse and blows from a different directions. Went out to barn area this am. My plastic water jugs are all over! My plastic lawn chair has traveled! The storage area for water dishes for the rabbits (they have been there all winter) has scattered dishes all over the place. My sack of recycle cans has broken and now I have several months of cans to retrieve! But the sun is shining

Spiders I can handle; but please take the nasty invasion of other flying and crawling critters; those wood roaches that folks around here call water bugs, the skeeters, the ticks, the snakes, the wasps...ugh. Where's Pandora when you want revenge? Ha.

DH feeds a collection of huge garden spiders every year that make their webs around our outdoor flowerbeds. Garden spiders are some of the most beneficial critters to have.

I don't care for any bug taking up residence inside. I keep a lot of those sticky bug traps everywhere. It's kinda amazing what ends up getting stuck on those.

You all do not want to know the size of the wolf spiders I have to battle in the downstairs bathroom. I went to hit one with a shoe, he wrestled it from me and started beating me with it. I was traumatized. Anytime a spider is big enough to stare you down, you are in trouble.

I shudder along side you! I had to kill one about a month ago(yes i am still traumatized).
IT was living above my bath and i left it be figuring it wants nothing to do with me either... well like hell!! Showering one morning i am rinsing off and open my eye just in time to see it about 6 inches above my face, darn near killed myself gettin away!
during the same week I am laying in the tub soakin with my eyes closed(will i ever learn??) and yet again open my eye to see it coming down from the cieling directly above my face yet again!
twice was enough for me, it's gone now.

Today has been a beautiful spring day.Me and my 8 yo and 5 year old grandaughters were planting some seeds in the garden, that is until the 8 yo,thought she saw a wasp, and to the house she went. The 5 yo stuck with me. She learned how to sew seeds and the distance that cabbage plants should be spaced and how to plant them with a peg,but the most important thing she learned, was not letting a little wasp keep her from enjoying being outside on a day like this,a day I believe God sent for us to enjoy. Especially after all them record breaking temps He sent last week and I hope He thinks He was maybe a little to rough on us and give us a few more like today. Whatever reason sendum on,them wasps, spiders and snakes are gunna have the worst fight they ever seen, before they send me to the house. lol Eddie

Spring is an alluring and frightening mixture of beauty and violence. It is like having a bi-polar girlfriend.
