online chat actually. It's a site that you have a log in....much like here....and you can text messages to it in real time. Sort of like a chat room combined with your own personal blog

It's a micro-blog. You can post updates and information up to 140 characters. It's a handy tool if you want to give quick updates to people.

I use it on occasion when I'm too lazy to post a real blog entry.

I am glad someone asked this question as I was wondering myself. For the life of me I cant figure out why anyone would text anything to anyone...of course I would have a rotary dial on my cell phone if they made one.

It is just like using a messenger service like MSN Instant Messenger, That is the one I use, but have used ICQ for some time, years ago, and another is Yahoo messenger, along with ICQ etc. I just got off Instant messaging for the last 30 minutes with some friends down in Iowa, and another one just down the road from me.
And sometimes I have done 3 at a time I am texting messages too..And at the same time. NOW THAT takes concentration so you don't get the wrong text message to the wrong person. LOL. It is fun, as it IS instant with no delay time, like e mailing back and forth.
