Talking 101 reasons why life is just peachy

Just some light hearted thoughts because Melissa seems to be having a BUSY BUSY night. Lets all take a deep breath and cut her some slack

This thread is delete and lock proof so IF you find a way you get a three stogges double eye poke!!

101 reasons why life is just peachy:

1.Ice cream, need I say more?
2.The first tufts of green emerging from the winter blahs
3.Speaking of spring, that first day you can open the windows and let a breeze in
4.Puppy kisses and tails wagging so hard the whole pup wiggles
5.No matter how cranky you are someone is more so, I kinda think that’s funny.
6.Everyone in the house fighting to “clean” the mixing bowl when I make treats
7.Finding exactly what you want on clearance
8.Sleeping in late on the weekend after a long hard week.
9.Perfectly seasoned cast iron, FINALLY
10.The day you realize home grown tomatoes really are better than store bought
11.First loaf of homemade bread that isn’t a brick
12.The rusty bolt breaking loose JUST as you are about to cut it off
13.Accidentally finding an error in the checkbook, in your favor
14.When small communities have benefits for locals who fell on hard times
15.Childrens hospitals who take any gravely ill child even with no insurance
16.Being relaxed enough on a porch to actually hear different types of birds singing
17.Sunshine on my face
18.Nothing beats the feeling of crisp, newly laundered sheets
19.Finding the toilet seat down 90% of the time
20.When the house is accidentally clean before a surprise guest
21.Months that cycle in an extra payday, woohoo!!
22.Warm apple cider and the sounds of rustling leaves in fall
23.Trick or treaters, sure do miss those out here
24.Finding all the lost socks, never mind. Buying new ones and disposing of the odd ones and finally having matched pairs.
25.The first egg after feeding pullets for what seems like forever
26.Speaking of poultry, getting my new “peeps” every spring never gets boring
27.When you really can blame it on the dog, lol
28.The pleasant surprise bill from an honest mechanic
29.The first day the flu goes away and you feel normal again
30.Gravy, who doesn’t love gravy? Sausage gravy, bacon gravy, turkey gravy.mmm gravy
31.Out of town guests
32.The day out of town guests finally go home and life goes back to normal
33.Clerks who remember you and always act nice, they do exist somewhere
34.Finishing a project, RARE around here
35.When someone helps eagerly without being asked because they know you are too stubborn or prideful to ask anyway
36.When a disaster really is funny, like the plumbing gets clogged and the septic vent pipe in the yard bursts up like a fountain because the washer is running. Ooops
37.Tripping but catching yourself before actually falling AND looking around to see that no one noticed
38.Cheeseburgers, that’s all, just cheeseburgers.
39.The smell of ocean
40.Kids getting old enough to stop having hand prints on every glass surface in the house and car
41.Doctors with super short waiting room times
42.On that note, registering vehicles via mail
43.Meeting someone new and interesting
44.Getting lost and finding something neat along the way
45.The closest parking space being empty on a yucky day
46.All green lights when you are running late. Does that ever happen?
47.Farm supply stores, enough said.
48.A good vet with fair prices
49.A dependable livestock sitter so you can actually leave home for more than half a day
50.That broken something being under warranty
51.Having just the extra thing someone else needs
52.Proper fitting undergarments that don’t ride or pinch
53.People who wave as you drive by on rural roads
54.People who stop to see if you need help on those same rural roads.
55.Getting to make the first dent in a fresh jar of peanut butter or tub of margarine.
56.Big ole fluffy, downey scented blankets in winter
57.Tons of stuff in the ole mailbox but zero bills
58.Listening to old timers tell their stories
59.An honest person returning something you lost
60.A stranger who smiles at you for no reason
61.A really good, long stretch when you didn’t even know you were stiff
62.The feeling of coming home after being away for awhile
63.Walking in the door and noticing you cleaned up before you left
64.Long hot soaks in the tub or shower
65.Envelope glue that doesn’t taste like rotten something or other
66.Finally finding that lost something you put in plain sight?!?!?!
67.When someone else does the above and you get to laugh at them
68.Pulverizing a loved one who is a cheater at board games to the point they think you have witched the dice
69.When the fragile thing you stupidly drop either gets caught or just bounces, rattles and lands gently
70.Gas prices being high enough to keep that pesky door to door salesman away. Lol
71.That burning smell just being the toaster instead of wiring in the wall
72.Someone being home to save you when you realize there is no TP left in the bathroom
73.The day everyone else in the family refills ice trays or drink containers instead of setting them out on the counter empty
74.Just barely making it to the post office to get a long awaited package before they close for the weekend.
75.The mail delivery person actually delivering said package up a short driveway instead of leaving a card for pick up in your box when you are at home waiting
76.Not accidentally missing the third episode in a row of your favorite show
77.That joy you get from a book you just can’t put down
78.Finding that alarm clock with a gentle buzzer instead of one that startles you awake and leaves your heart rate up for 15 minutes
79.Feeling rested and waking up before the alarm goes off anyway
80.The rare occasion when something big actually goes the way you planned it
81.A friend who laughs at your stupid jokes and means it
82.When the annoying farm cat you can’t stand does that cute blinky eyed purring thing that melts your heart
83.When you finally feed the cat AGAIN and can walk without being afraid to trip over it and kill it
84.When you trip dramatically anyway spare the cat injury, somehow manage not to drop whatever pointless thing you are carrying but injure yourself
85.The day my son learned why I kept nagging him not to carry eggs in his pockets
86.Untangled wind chimes
87.Making it to the day the trash guys decide you still exist and not having to store trash in the house. (darned pets and lazy service workers)
88.Not getting caught taking a stinky bag of trash to a dumpster in town while you wait three weeks for a weekly trash pick up
89.Seeing the person who was driving 90 mph recklessly and nearly ran you off the road getting caught doing 15 mph behind a slow moving farm vehicle a mile down the road
90.Knowing the person in the farm vehicle and making a quick text message for them to slow down more and drive wide. Gotta love city folk on 2 lane country roads
91.When you can actually find the station on the radio that goes with whatever the person in the next car is singing
92.Speaking of radio, finding a decent signal and good tunes on long stretches of lonesome highway
93.The irony that all the people who have satellite radio will be back in the same boat with me when XM goes bankrupt
94.The gratitude of finding the last two Tylenol when you have a pounding headache and having someone who makes you so happy you give them up to their achey back
95.Remembering you ran out of milk before you get back home from town
96.Holidays that include a day off but don’t require the purchase of cards or gifts
97.A Charlie horse you catch just in time and get rid of before you get knocked over in agony
98.Exact change at a store check out
99.When the party you dreaded going to is cancelled at the last minute
100.A black shirt that doesn’t attract lint
101.Finally knowing you can trust a young livestock guard dog even when the barking makes you crazy and seems to be for no reason.

Please add your own, winter has been long and we can all use some spring in here

why life is just peachy:
Christmas lights work year round and can't tell time.
With retirement, clocks cease to exist.
Exercise is a good walk in the sun with a dog and a cat.
You rediscover the inside color of the fridge is white, not brown spotted.

A good sneeze

puppy breath

a tabby cat that starts to purr when you walk into the room

good scotch

abundant chocolate

that first hour after the kids are asleep and you still have energy to do something productive

the smell of new crayons

getting the parking space closest to the entrance

flipping through the radio stations and hearing that song that takes you back to your first kiss

The warmth of a child snuggled up to you after they had a bad dream.

The giggles of a tickle war.

The big brother praying for the little one's fever to go away.

The sight of a baby chick working its way out of the shell.

Baby rabbits. Who can resist?

DH turning on the heating pad so I'll have a warm bed to crawl into.

Hugs from two kids who are almost adults but still need a good morning hug to start their day

The smell of fresh baked bread

Softly falling rain in the early morning

The sound of the local church bells (chimes) in the wee hours of morning

A warm bonfire on a chilly eve

hot chocolate even when it's not cold outside

double cheese pizza

my 3 month old godson's smile

My one and only baby who now towers over his "little mama" bending over to kiss me on the forehead before he heads out the door to school

curling up in a comfy chair on a cold winter night with a cup of hot tea and a seed catalog

sunshine

snow outlining every branch of the apple trees outside my kitchen window

hearing my son and his friends laughing in the next room, and knowing they are good kids

Iris, daffodils and crocus leaves poking through the snow... spring really will be here soon!

Seeing a lamb kick up it's feet.

The first few drips into a new sap pail at maple syrup time

Fireflies

The first blooms on my tomato plants.

Good news when you NEED it

Clothes that fit AND feel cuddly

Cocoa!

4 Dogs who play "who can lick mommy first"

when wild geese waddle to within inches of your barking dogs

racoons washing their food in a puddle by the road!

Waking up with a smile and not knowing why

Noticing that the birds changed their song to spring!

Any type of planning that makes your heart happy

Taking out your spring jacket and finding a $5 bill in the pocket

Getting a credit to your checking account that's down to the last hundred dollars.

Lowering your internet bill by $30 a month and the connection speed is faster.

Paying off the lawn tractor.

The check you have been waiting for (from a client) just came in and you can pay your bills.

Taking your kids on a road trip and they are actually civil to one another.

The ice finally melts off the driveway and is no longer a skating rink.

Checking the mail and there are no bills!

Having a full freezer.

Iced tea. Yum!

Here's a few more

My 5 foot tall 10 year old babies still want to cuddle up with me on the couch on a regular basis.

My dh, who works 60+ hours a week and is working on his Phd, put everything aside for the afternoon so that we can enjoy family time.

Our state tax refund was deposited into our account this week only 2 days after submitting it!

I woke up to enjoy another day with my wonderful family, I am grateful for everyday I am here.

That smell in the air that says Spring is coming

Laughing with friends until tears roll down your face

Cuddles with a child at bedtime over a few books

A purring cat under the covers at bedtime

The first time I hear my puppies howl.

When they finely settle down for a nap or bedtime at night.

The day they FINELY delivered my building for my canning and sewing room.

Having all my laundry finished and put up.

A clean computer desk.

Blood dripping from the blade of my knife as I slice into a medium rare charcoal grilled steak.

The voices that always tell me what to do...first there's my wife's, then my daughters', then my sons', then the others...

The goalie mask that protects me from flying matter when chainsawing.

Hearing Hubby say as you crawl into bed..."I warmed your side for you." Now that's love.

E-mail from teenage grandchildren that says simply, "Hi Granny, I love you."

call from my DS, raised in SC that said he is in ND and it is only -6

Picking the first ripe blueberries from the bushes in my yard in my nightgown

Having enough fresh eggs to give to neighbors that I know really need them

Getting a phone call that gives DH the day off but knowing the bills will still be paid

Seeing the seeds coming up in the garden you have worked so hard on getting in

Harvesting that first group of fresh veg, not enough to do anything with so you just saute them all together with a little salt

Hugs, kisses and "I love you" from my two sons

Watching the kids bounce in the pasture

Having friends that know something's wrong without telling them

Having friends that will help no matter what

God's many blessings, even in the hard times

Parents that call to check on me at least 5 times a day.
