This flu bug is a doozy!

My DH started coming down with it first...fever, sore throat, turned into bronchitis and a hacking cough, plus stomach ache and nausea and dizziness. We were okay on Thanksgiving and the day after, but by Saturday night my DH was laid out SICK!!! I could feel it coming on a bit myself, but I drank lots of fluids, took vitamin c, took it easy and thought I could get away without coming down fullblown sick. Boy, was I wrong. By Monday evening, my throat was sore and I felt really sluggish. I took Tuesday off from work ( I have to talk all day for a living) thinking that a day off would have me good as new....
And here it is FRIDAY and I am sick as a dog. I tried to drag myself in to work yesterday, but had to call off because I now have laryngitis to go with the horrible chest congestion, running nose and sore throat. I have been taking cough suppressant/ expectorant so that when I do cough it is more productive. I am absolutely miserable. I haven't been sick like this in years. At this rate, I'll be lucky to be back in office come Monday!

Cedar fever is supposed to be really bad this year - you sure it's not that? I'm on a local equine board (want the link?), and several folks on your side of town are sick too. Think I'll stay south for a while - LOL!!

I don't think it's cedar fever, though that might be contributing
Everyone around me at work was getting sick before Thanksgiving and I thought I had dodged it.

I would like that link, though

Oh, girl! I'm sorry! You must be feeling awful.

Lots of hot toddies work very well in these situations.

Stay warm, under the covers, and let us know how the weekend progresses, okay?

I'll be thinking of you!

It doesn't help that I am the most pathetic, worst patient around. I HATE being sick and it makes me whiney and miserable I am not good at sitting around doing nothing. This is torture!

LOL! No kidding.
I haven't been this sick from the flu ever before. Guess I shoulda had that flu shot that they were giving for FREE at work this year...doh!
I am finally feeling well enough to tend to the basic outdoor chores (my DH had been feeding/watering all the critters for the past couple of days because I was in such a sorry state). My throat hurt so bad yesterday that I thought I might have strep throat, but thankfully the sore throat was much improved when I woke up this morning. I managed to fold and put away a big pile of laundry, but am being VERY careful not to overdo it. I have the utmost respect for the virus that had me sick in bed for the better part of an entire week! Nothing to sneeze at.....(a little sick-as-a-dog punny humor for y'all).

I don't think what we have is the flu.. but ear aches/infections, sore throat and an awful cough.
They put my dad on antibiotics for his ears, the DS got it and is still coughing.
I have my first earache ever.. it feels like I am breathing out of my ears sometimes.. very weird. I have the sore throat and awful cough and have for over a week now.
Dad and DS are on week 2.
No fun.
But I do not feel ill, just tired and depressed and more inclined to just sit here than to gather up 6 trees worth of pecans. I find that I get short of breath if I do anything to much.
did i mention this was fun?

I'm still not feeling 100%, it seems to have moved from my chest to my nose now.. Argg.. I just want it to GO away! I've been taking Vit C hoping it will help, I guess it will just take some time. I don't think this is the flu either, just some lovely virus making it's rounds once again..
