Second week of deer camp - have to share
Just in case anyone has ever missed this one in their lifetime, I thought I'd share, especially since it's right in the middle of the season...

I love Da Yoopers! They have a Second Week of Deer Camp sequel, too. And Bouncing thru the snow, in my rusty Chevrolet to the tune of Dashing thru the snow, in my one horse open sleigh, is priceless. Their album I got last year for Christmas is We're Still Rocking and they do to the tune Dayo (the Banana Song) "Eino, Eino, it was Eino who shot dat deer!"
Can you tell I am a fan? For years, my Boy Scouts on the way to summer camp expected Da Yoopers 2nd Week of Deer Camp and Loudon Wainwright III's Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road for music!

Actually, I had completely forgotten about "Rusty Chevrolet" until I went to look for the Deer Camp video. I had to watch it too - I remember my dad listening to it when I was a kid, and we both just laughed and laughed.
My mom never did get it - I guess I inherited my weird sense of humor from daddy!

You can access more info about their music through the button on the lower left.
I live about 15 miles from their store/set-up and every visitor we have to our house always wants to go see the place

The video is a hoot! I've never seen it before. As for the song, radio stations all over Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan have been playing it for years. The song even appears on juke boxes in taverns. If the stations aren't playing "The Second Week of Deer Camp," they are playing "Da Turdy Point Buck," dontchaknow.

When I get a chance later, I'm going to watch "Da Turdy Point Buck", because I don't think I've ever heard it before.
But I still think "Rusty Chevrolet" is going to be my all-time favorite.

Last year WIHH wanted to go to a live show for one of our dates. I begrudgingly agreed and asked her if a musical would be okay with her. She was stunned! "A musical! I love musicals!" she proclaimed.
This is the musical I picked out ==> "Deer Camp, The Musical"
Do doubt that someday it will make it all the way to Broadway!!
And, don't miss seeing this ==>

I love Da Yoopers. I literally LOL until I cry and my tummy hurts.
Years ago, there was an old what-we-call farmer bar near us. It was the type where a farmer could stop with barn smell on him and nobody would mind.
Anyway, the Friday before deer hunting season opened we'd go over there for a fish fry and listen to the neighbors talk about hunting. Of course Da Yoopers were on the juke box. It was so much fun!
