The barn is quiet.... The chicken coop is empty....

All the animals are gone.... Now we concentrate on packing & moving....

The cattle have been gone for a little more than 2 weeks, and I'm still not used to it.... I hate looking at the empty pasture & driving past the barren barn....

The goats & rabbits left about a month ago, but I almost bought rabbit "treats' yesterday....

The chickens left Saturday night.... And now I listen to the silence of the morning.... No roosters crowing.... No hens clucking....

Our boys will be moving Friday & Saturday into their house.... We move next week.... All these changes at once.... It's tough.... I feel like crying at all times.... I know DH & I will enjoy our new life "alone", but it's still tough....

Although the boys have already made it known that they will be "coming home" Mondays & Thursdays for supper.... So all is not lost.... LOL....

Aw, I'm sorry Michelle, it's so hard to leave a life you love.

That is so hard. I still miss my chickens and it has been about 6 months! But there are times and seasons for things. Life has a way of bringing you new things to enjoy if you are open to them. :-)

My youngest daughter (23) just moved out this w/e to her apartment. It is so bare and empty upstairs. While I knew the time would come, it is still tough.

My husband sold out his dairy business in March this year. Dairying has been his purpose in life since I met him 32 years ago.

I feel for you Michelle...

but as I've learned in life, when the door closes, the windows open. Here's to many "windows" in your new life! (ok, so I'm bad at analogies!)

think of it as a new adventure in your life. (((HUGS))) (altho I got teary reading your post)

I remember when my Dd got her first apartment. it took us 6 months to get over it. lol my hubby kept saying 'why would she want to leave US?' poor guy....I finally had to tell him we just weren't that exciting. LOL

flash forward.....suddenly it's sorta GREAT to have hub all to myself. (we can walk around in our undies if we want. we don't...but we could...LOL) but seriously....every new journey is frightening. jump in with both feet and enjoy! positive vibes being sent your way. and....hey....you can always get chickens and assorted 'babies' again...right? IF that's what you want. or.....just go with the flow of life more relaxed........
