men...and folding laundry...

ok..I know there are you men out there than CAN fold. but...ladies...can your man fold? mine..bless his little heart...simply CAN'T. he tries (and it's not like one of those things he tries to get out of, so he does it nasty. I was on to this thinking soon after we were married, when he hated to paint...so he was messy. HA! he learned to NOT be messy, cause that ploy didn't work alllll the time) he tries...and there is this 'glob' when he's done. and the poor guy thinks it's done so well. what he does to clothes......is.......criminal. LOL he's so brilliant in all areas........but that man simply cannot fold laundry to save his soul. little 'balls'...of cloth....LOL

yeah mine can. so perfect it's scary. i guess he had a friend in the navy and he liked the folding style. i'm the slob in the house so if he wants to fold clothes i let him. he does hang most of his stuff but all the kids clothes are neat little packages inside their drawers. so smooth and perfect and everything fits. i have folding envy i guess.

What is this "folding" of which you speak?

Actually, I have folded laundry most of my life. But, if you as my wife, she'd probably say I can't just because I don't do it exactly the way that she does.

If she weren't so smart, kind and beautiful, I'd accuse her of being a bit anal about it.

Ditto. DH has been washing his own laundry since he was a kid, and he's very particular about the whole process. I just shove everything in the wash, he separates colors. On one occasion one of my red blouses turned his underwear pink, and another time I washed something of his in hot water and it shrank, so he prefers doing the laundry.

Yeah, Roger can fold clothes...to a point.I showed him why I folded clothes a certain way--so they'd fit in neat piles in the drawers and shelves and he got better at it. It was logical then.

I was specially trained by the military (Air Force) to fold my underwear 4”x 4” squares. A task that still haunts me till today!

DH used to work at a clothing store - so he is able to fold perfectly. I, on the other hand, am absolutely horrible at it. He has tried to show me, but I just can never get it right.

Yes, DH can fold clothes. Often, when we go to bed- there is that pile of laundry I forgot lying right there waiting for us. We fold them together. I don't care HOW he folds them. Things I care about never get dumped on the bed - they go on hangers anyway. How the clothes he is going to wear to work under the house or the ones I will wear out in the garden get folded is not an issue around here.

Now ask me about leaving socks in the middle of the living room.....

speaking of socks...where do they go sometimes? I put them in...they wash. put them in the dryer...they dry...............then a couple vanish off the face of the earth. what's up with that?? no way can they go anywhere either place due to screens.

I don't criticize...I just look in complete awe.......its......unreal. LOL

I cannot fold clothes to save my life, there is nothing i dislike more (almost) than laundry day. I complain and get grumpy enough that usually my ex GF (and best friend go figure) steps in and saves the day from WWIII

Guess she just cant stand the stomach pains from laughing so hard at me...
Can drive a truck and rebuild an engine, but cannot fold a shirt.....
On the other hand, i do receive phone calls in the middle of the night to come DEAL WITH something...bugs, SPIDERS, MICE...etc hehe so i tend to have a laughfest too...

I used to be SO sloppy about folding clothes. Then I dated a guy who was anal about everything. So he taught me to fold. It drove me nuts that he would take all the laundry I folded, dump it out on the bed and show me how to do it "right". Now I'm married to a guy who is as sloppy as I used to be. I found myself telling him to do it "right". Caught myself right then and there and remembered what it felt like when that happened to me.

Now I'm just glad the stuff gets folded and put away! And he's getting better with practice. He stays at home while I work, so he is learning all these new fangled things like laundry, dishes and mopping.

Hey mamita,
Check inside your pillow cases and in the corners of the sheets. Socks are shy and usually hide from people if they can.

Hello, my name is Rose, and I can't fold laundry. I hate to fold laundry. I'll wash it and dry it, and then I'll leave it in the basket as long as possible.

I'm better at it than my wife. Especially about putting clothes on hangers.

But the laundry is her job so I leave her to it.

And before I get the usual retort about house work I do the cooking, dish washing, grocery shopping, and I clean the toilet better than she does, so there!

.....Alan.

Any point to folding the laundry nicely when I'm sure you will iron the wrinkles out?

I don't mind washing it, hanging it out, taking it down, folding it but for some reason I HATE to put it away. Right now I have a basket full of nicely folded towels sitting in the bedroom floor (I use our bed as a folding table.)
