Checking in after IKE

TC update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just talked to TC.

Everyone one is safe, including her Mom who couldn't/wouldn't leave Baytown and her patient. All her animals made it thru fine too, except she said her chickens were bald - again.

They have no power - probably won't have any for a while. A pole is snapped right at their house, but the whole area is out of power. She says they can't even get out of their driveway, down trees are everywhere.

They did not get flood waters in the house. TC says the rains are just stopping now and the water is near the door - a close one.

I think the kids are getting bored already and TC is missing us. It must be terrible to go thru a weather event of that size and not be able to see news about what happened around you.

She said to tell you, "Thank you very much for thinking about us!"

Phones are working, so I will check back again. It was good to hear that they were alright.

I posted this at the quilt forum, but I know that audience is pretty limited, so this is a double post.

Halo

Thanks! I've been checking all day to see if there was any word from her. Glad to hear they all came through okay.

Well Ike is moving straight up the Oklahoma/Arkansas line here where I live and it's rainning heavy. I caught a movement out the corner of my eye and could have sworn I seen a fish go swimming by the window!
