Sometimes I Wish I had Cable TV....

Every once-in-awhile, I decide to watch TV. Not a DVD or anything - just good old fashioned TV.
Last night was one of those times.
I get a nice glass of tea, get the dog on my lap, turn on the TV and.....

The ONLY thing on ALL the channels we get (ABC, CBS, NBC) was the stupid Democratic National Convention!

I CAN'T WAIT until this stupid election carp is over......

I hear about shows on cable that I wish I could see. There's hardly anything on broadcast TV that's worth watching besides the news, and stuff like Dateline and 20/20.

But I have plenty of DVD's to watch.

Scrounger, do you have high speed internet? If you do, you can go to the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC...don't know about FOX) websites and actually watch a lot of their shows from their website. It doesn't have to be running on the network at the time.

Canadians can watch some shows via the CTV website, as well.

We have DSL. I don't often get the urge to watch TV - other then DVD's. It just so happens that the night I DID want to, all that was on was stupid election coverage.
I'll check the websites next time I decide I want to wach TV. Thanks.

I watched a little of the convention.

Then, the camera zoomed out and panned the room. A lot of the delegates were milling around not listening to the speaker (Granted, it was some Chicago city clerk, not one of the main speakers).

I then decided, "Hey, if the delegates aren't watching, why should I."

I went back the the book I was reading: The history of the Americas from the Vikings to the Pilgrims.

The Democrat convention isn't stupid...the Republican convention will be though...LOL.

Seriously, I understand about nothing being on TV.

We have opted not to have cable TV because there is so much junk and bad stuff that we don't want our little one to watch.

If we got cable, DH might have to find another excuse to go over to the neighbor's garage and watch all the sports and races.

I watch almost no TV. Sometimes I will turn on a PBS show I like, such as Antiques Road Show, America's Test Kitchen, Real Food, etc. The only time I watch cable is when I'm stuck in a hospital bed, and then it's only the Food Network that I watch.

Eventually, we're going to get the bundle package that's available for our area that has the dish, phone, and internet all in one. But only after the switch that nullifies our old antenna.
