Question What are you paying for a gallon of honey? SW MO?

We are in SW MO and the lady we buy our raw milk from is willing to barter honey for milk. When we were up near KC we paid $26 for a gallon. She is charging me $2.50 a galln for milk and thought 3 or 4 gallons would be a good trade. I don't think it is that cheap down here. Maybe I am wrong but what are you paying?

I pay $32 a gallon for honey but good raw milk here would be 7-8 a gallon.

This is totally raw honey. We use nothing on our bees, so no meds or sulfates...

I don't know of anyone that sells raw, unpasteurized honey locally, so we buy ours from the same place we get buckets of wheat. The company is out of Georgia (I think) and we are in Southeast Missouri.

We pay $35.00 plus shipping for a 1 gallon jug of raw, unpasteurized honey.

We sell our honey for $4 a lb.--please don't sell your product short. We don't seem to have any problems selling at this price including 5 gal. pails...we have several retail outlets bringing in steady income plus private sales and barter deals. People don't realize the expenses in beekeeping, high cost of the equipment, and the time involved in producing a quality product. Our product is not mixed with honey from all over or from countries that allow pesticide use that the US doesn't...it is pure honey as it comes from the beehives. DEE

I pay $9.00 for a quart of raw honey from a guy at work. That's much cheaper than anything else around here, including the mystery honey in the grocery store! Don't know about the price of raw milk - we can't buy any here.

The woman I buy milk from charges me at least 4.00 a gal. for raw milk. But even at that price you should get a lot more milk than 3 or 4 gals.

I usually pay around $10/qt for honey here in NC. Don't sell (barter) yourself short!

$7/qt and he sees he'd be losing money at $14/qt. 30% drop in honey production, loss of a good part of his hives last winter. His theory is a fungus in the water- affecting bats bees and frogs.
