geez. this just keeps getting better :(

rain rain and more rain. and now....the town our farm is closest to, 650 souls, is under a mandatory evacuation. wisconsin river is a flat flat broad river...it doesn't have a deep carved out valley. It's pretty much...oh, 10 ft down from the road, in most places around here.

when it floods...it floods a LOT of land. doesn't flood often, fortunately.

Unfortunately for the rivers south of us....this all flows downstream into the Mississippi. Gonna be a LOOOOOONG week in the upper midwest.

oh yah...and I came home to the town house (some 60 miles away) because it was supposed to be so bad at the farm. heh. we just had a tornado touch down just outside of the city. and straightline winds with golf ball sized hail.

Hope everyone is okay. The midwest is a mess right now.

We are up near Rhinelander. We've been getting heavy rain this evening, but the severe stuff is all south of us. We have seen all the flooding on the news. Take care everyone! Be safe!!

I'm in Fond Du Lac. Lots of flash flooding and high winds nearby. Interesting to see the morning paper to see where tornadoes touched down.

Ah yeah, water in the basement today. I can' t believe we got another 2.5 inches yesterday! But having a wet basement is nothing in comparison to the folks north of us and in Iowa, so I can't complain!

Yeesh Ann I'm glad you guys are okay! We haven't had hail yet (knock on wood!) and no tornadoes too close thankfully!

The bad storms and flooding was South of us. We did get a lot of rain and our basement is a bit damp.

BTW, we're 40 miles West of Appleton, 15 miles South of Waupaca.

I give thanks to the couple who donated the 700+ acres to keep the wetland near me wetlands. While the rivers have flooded, the wetlands are doing what nature intended, holding floodwater. But I may opt to drive an additional 6-8 miles on my commute as one spot is getting kind of iffy as water on both sides of the road.
